The script edit

Here's the script I use on the full list available from http://wikimedia.org/stats/en.wikipedia.org/

awk ' ($5 !~ /:/ && $1>10000 && $5 ~ /\/wiki\//) {sub(/\/wiki\//,"",$5);gsub(/_ /," ", $5);print "*",$1,""$5""} ' url_200403.html

Should the top of the page not say "page impressions" rather than "hits"? --195.11.216.59 09:48, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)

The link to the wikimedia stats page for en.wikipedia.org seems to be broken. I'm not sure if this is a temporary or permanent issue, or if it even matters in this 'historical' article. 203.122.251.29 14:11, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Doubles edit

Solar System/Solar system and Solar energy/solar power pop up differently but go to the same place. It would seem the script should combine these if possible. Just a thought. Mrshaba (talk) 17:55, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Beatles edit

Why is this always at or near the top? In the past I've guessed at some kind of virus useing the article to check it can conntect to the web but it's being going on for so long. Anyone got any better ideas?©Geni 01:47, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

The line for The Beatles is now commented out as long as the numbers are that ridiculous high. This has to be considered as traffic spam; see also User_talk:Numbo3-bot#The_Beatles for more information. --- Kind regards, Numbo3 (talk) 22:31, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reason for Popular Pages being deactivated edit

Can anyone tell me why the Popular Pages were deactivated? Opses0 (talk) 01:42, 6 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I thought it was because it was usually not an accurate representation of the actual number of visitors that articles were getting. For instance, The Beatles was almost always the number one article, with double or more the number of views when compared to the second place article, due to traffic spam. New top page reporting service edit

Reporting possible error edit

Attention:

Since the 16 March 2017‎ update, article talk pages that are tagged under parent projects for example : WikiProject Caribbean |Haiti=yes opposed to simply WikiProject Haiti are no longer included in the list as well as other projects such as Argentina (South America |Argentina=yes). You will notice a considerable difference in Haiti's before list: [1], as well as its after [2] as well as Argentina's [3] [4] to show that it isn't just one project and could be the same across the board. Thanks to whom it may concern. Savvyjack23 (talk) 20:25, 26 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
