TFA blurb review edit

The Petropavlovsk class was a group of three pre-dreadnought battleships built for the Imperial Russian Navy. They were transferred to the Pacific Squadron shortly after their completion in 1899–1900, and participated in the Battle of Port Arthur on the second day of the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905). Petropavlovsk sank two months later after striking one or more mines. Her two sister ships, Sevastopol and Poltava, took part in the Battle of the Yellow Sea in August 1904 and were sunk or scuttled during the Siege of Port Arthur in early 1905. Poltava was salvaged by the Imperial Japanese Navy. Renamed Tango, the ship participated in the Battle of Tsingtao in late 1914, during World War I. She was sold back to the Russians in 1916 and renamed Chesma. The ship became the flagship of the Russian Arctic Flotilla in 1917, but was seized in early 1918 during the British intervention in the Russian Civil War. See WT:TFA#Fourth quarter 2018 blurbs. This is just a suggested blurb ... thoughts and edits are welcome. - Dank (push to talk) 19:23, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

I just added the Featured Topic, which takes us up to 1055. I'm not generally trimming when a later edit takes a blurb over the limit, but if someone wants to trim it, that's fine. - Dank (push to talk) 00:30, 23 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Me again ... trimmed it to 993 characters. Thinking of scheduling this at TFA during July (the 100-year anniversary of scrapping for one of them). - Dank (push to talk) 16:29, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Changed my mind; early July is hard to schedule for, with multiple articles competing for the 1st, 4th and 14th. - Dank (push to talk) 22:41, 14 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
