The course addresses all aspects of reproductive justice - the right for bodily autonomy, the right to have a child, the right NOT to have a child, and the right to take care of the children one already has in safe and sustainable environments. We discuss issues of contraception, medicalization, and the role of policies in enabling (or making it more difficult) for people to have the families they want (even if that means NO family). Student will have a broad range of skills and preparation levels. Some may translate articles, I will also allow students to edit pages related to reproductive justice (disability and pregnancy, for example). For students who do not have previous familiarity with the topic(s), I will encourage them to add details for specific countries to policy pages, or add bios for notable people who are active in the filed of reproductive justice.
