This trunkline is relatively new. There is finally a new GIS framework for Michigan that should incorporate it, unlike the previous editions. Imzadi1979 (talk) 20:35, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

The only framework that I can find is version 8a from May 2008, which still has Chicago Drive inventoried as "Old M-21". Of course, what the data is listed under is not that big of a deal as the data can still be used to produce a map with the correct routing; I'm just checking to see if this is indeed the most recent framework. – TMF 04:24, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
I've been told offwiki that it isn't the most recent; however, like I said above, it is possible to make the requested map from it since the necessary data is there. Unfortunately, I can't get the data to work properly with my existing shapefiles (for states and such), so I can't fulfill this request. – TMF 08:12, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
Follow-up: it appears that there's a bug in how QGIS treats the projection that the framework is projected in, so it's likely that it will take someone with ArcGIS or something like that to fulfill this request quickly. It is also possible to do it in QGIS if only data from the Michigan GIS library is used; however, I have no interest in downloading a dozen large shapefiles just to use them once. If one does have an interest in doing so, here is the link to the data. The latest framework (v9b) is also available from that link; it's at the bottom of the page. – TMF 08:56, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

The current map, made by NE2, only shows the proposed route (2007) but doesn't show the actual route (2008) that WSDOT maintains. Can I please have a map showing the 0.35 mi highway and dotted lines for the proposed route? I think WSDOT has GIS on its Maps and Data Department and thanks! –CG 16:32, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

  • BTW, this article is now a GA and the correct Maps and Data link is here. –CG 19:01, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Have you attempted to contact the creator of the original map? I'd imagine that they still have the data on hand and thus they'd likely fix this map the soonest. Hopefully whoever fixes it uploads a map with some labels; the one that's there now really doesn't help anyone with no knowledge of Washington roads (and maybe even those with knowledge) figure out where the road is through context or other means. Virtually every Washington and California map has the same problem. – TMF 09:18, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
File:Washington Route 213 map.svg; none of the WSDOT GIS files contain the proposed route, though, so I wasn't able to include that. - Algorerhythms (talk) 18:24, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Done File:NJ Route 45 map.svg File:NJ Route 208 map.svg File:NJ Route 440 map.svg. A word of advice though: I would refrain from making more New Jersey requests in the near future. One sentiment that I had and others had as I was making these maps was that once I got these maps done, this request would immediately be replaced by another request for five maps as that's typically what's happened in the past. Speaking from experience, this is a major turnoff for those who would otherwise be willing to fulfill the request. As such, if this request is immediately replaced by another five articles, that request will be the lowest priority of any request on this page in my mind and it is highly unlikely that I will accept it anytime soon. Now, others can accept it by all means, but I won't. – TMF 05:40, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Done. Unfortunately, I had to remake the map from scratch since the trace method used to make the original map turns the lines into polygons and splits the land and water polygons at the roads, making it very difficult to edit. This is not intended to be a knock on JA's work at all; it was just simpler to take this approach to fixing the map. – TMF 10:01, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Done...kind of. CR 166A and CR 174A were merged out of existence a long while ago, and CRs 174, 175, and 179 are more than adequately covered as part of the CR 17x series on List of county routes in Sullivan County, New York. Thus, I've made a map for that section that shows CRs 171-176, 178, and 179 plus 173A and 174A: File:Sullivan CR 170 series NY map.svg. That should close out this request. – TMF 10:47, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Thistle, Utah is under Wikiproject Ghost Towns, not USRD. However it very much is relevant to USRD, and a significant amount of the article's content is dedicated to US-6. My goal is to get this to FA, it's currently asses to B class by Wikproject Ghost towns. Could I get a map of before and after the landslide locations of US6, US89 and the railroads? This would be similar to this one [2]? Thanks in advance, I know this is an unusual request. Dave (talk) 23:11, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Done? I'm creating a map of Utah County which will include an inset map similar to the usends.com link. –Fredddie 03:36, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
File:Thistle landslide.png Let me know if this will work for you. –Fredddie 05:27, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

This is a high priority start class rated article although I think you might view it as a high priority C-class by now.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 01:49, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Not done. For the infobox, the picture that's there now works just as well as a map would. –Fredddie 04:59, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

The map: File:Michiganhighways.PNG was created in 2005. It contains a disclaimer that it isn't "pin-accurate". Would someone be willing to create a new, replacement map off GIS data for the state of Michigan? Create it with MTF standards and colors using more current GIS data so we can retire that five-year-old map from the article. Imzadi 1979  19:59, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello - if anyone can create a map for this article, that would great! It's low priority now, but I hope to improve it to B-class soon. Cheers, Raime 04:34, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Request for road maps for PR-52 and PR-22. These two articles are currently showing a generic map of paper Interstate roads in Puerto Rico. Thank you! Mercy11 (talk) 06:48, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

Accepted. Please remember, the rules on this page only allow you to request one map at a time. –Fredddie 15:32, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Ouch. I didn't read first. My apologies. Mercy11 (talk) 15:39, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
I need some clarification. Are there any parts of PR-22 and PR-52 that are not part of PRI-1 and PRI-2? –Fredddie 02:49, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't know the answer to that but, if I had to guess, I would would answer "No". However, in the next few days I will attempt to see if I find a concrete answer. Mercy11 (talk) 03:57, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
UPDATE: (***Note: In the message that follows, please pay close attention to the naming of the roads, in particular, PRI-2 and PR-2 refer to "different" roads, in the sense that PR-2 is (believed to be) a subset of PRI-2.***)
To answer your question above, I have not been able to find anything that says, for example,
  • "No section of PR-52 is a part of PRI-1" nor anything that says,
  • "No section of PR-22 is a part of PRI-2."
With that said, I tend to believe that PR-52 and PRI-1 are the same road, but it is signed PR-52 (and it is unsigned PRI-1).
Also with that said, the situation with PR-22/PRI-2 is probably a bit more complicated. I tend to believe that all of PR-22 is actually part of PRI-2, but it is signed PR-22 (and it is unsigned PRI-2). The reason I say it is more complicated is three-fold:
(1) The unsigned PRI-2 appears to be made up of roads with two different signs: PR-2 and PR-22
(2) The PR-22 appears to be a perfect subset of PRI-2.
(3) The new PR-22 is being built virtually parallel to PR-2. And, it appears that as new sections of this new superhighway PR-22 are opened to traffic, it takes on the unsigned ID of PRI-2 from the older, narrower, and (again) parallel PR-2 that it is "replacing", and which used to be IDed "PRI-2" (Old sections of PR-2 which have not yet been "replaced" by the new PR-22 continue to be part of PRI-2).
In essense, the apparent implication of these three above is that "Not just sections of PR-22 are part of PRI-2, but indeed all of PR-22 is a part of PRI-2 (with parts of PR-2 making up the rest of PRI-2)."
I hope this was not confusing, but that it all makes sense to you. If you want sources that led me to believe as I believe, let me know and I'll try to go back and find them all. Again, there appears to be no source(s) that explicitly say what you want, but these deductions can be inferred from the various sources. Regards, Mercy11 (talk) 22:23, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Its not an error per say, but I know last time I was editing a lot, GAN took issue to maps like this one, as none of the lines are labeled, and even being from Washington, I have no clue where that little segment you see is on the map. If someone can update / redo the map like Utah State Route 103's that would be appreciated. --Admrboltz (talk) 17:42, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

In the A-Class Review for US 113, the map in the infobox, File:US 113 map.png, was noted as lacking a key and GIS source. I would appreciate someone updating the map with those features. Any other updates to spruce up the map would be greatly appreciated as well. — Viridiscalculus (talk) 02:12, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Missed this request. Have uploaded a new svg version of the file file:US 113 (DE-MD) map.svg, which has the sourcing and legend in the metadata. 25or6to4 (talk) 05:22, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for the map update.  V 19:25, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

I just want a new map that's up to MTF standards (something like SR-103's map with an inset map, but without shields). Also, could the red line be comparatively thicker than the rest of the lines (as in this map)? CL (T · C) — 17:41, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Created a second map with different scale file:I-215 (UT) map 2.svg. Let me know if this will work for your usage. 25or6to4 (talk) 04:35, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
With the risk of sounding too nitpicky, I'm thinking for a 29-mile route the scale is too large. You know what I mean? CL (T · C) — 00:39, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Ok, have updated the zoomed image as well. Let me know if it needs any tweaks. 25or6to4 (talk) 13:32, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Perfect. Thank you! CL (T · C) — 23:00, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

I would like a map that only has Interstate and Interstate auxiliary routes highlighted, preferably on a state wide zoom, ala Washington State Route 22. --Admrboltz (talk) 04:57, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Uh, all the text is off to the side... --Admrboltz (talk) 05:02, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, looks like I goofed something up in the text layer. Am reassembling a new map. 25or6to4 (talk) 05:24, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

The current map has been nominated for deletion at Commons. Since US 66 is one of the project's few Top-importance articles (and rightfully so) I figured I'd post here in case someone wants to make a replacement before the old one's trashed. Even though US 66 is assessed as B-Class, I posted the request here because, well, it shouldn't be B-Class in the sad condition it's in. – TMF 17:15, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
