The railroad of the Monongahela Southern Railroad Company, herein called the Monongahela Southern, which is leased to and operated by the carrier, consists of 6.772 miles of double-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, extending from Monongahela Junction to Mifflin Junction, all in the State of Pennsylvania.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The Monongahela Southern was incorporated February 8, 1897, under the general laws of the State of Pennsylvania, for the purpose of constructing and operating approximately 16 miles of railroad from Duquesne to Finleyville, Pa.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the Monongahela Southern, extending from Monongahela Junction to Mifflin Junction, Pa., 6.772 miles, was all acquired by construction. Approximately all of the road was built between February 1, 1898, and April 1, 1906.
