Welcome!WikiProject Textile Arts is a WikiProject, which aims to improve Wikipedia's coverage of textile arts. This newsletter exists simply to notify project members of ongoing events within the project and relating to textile arts on Wikipedia.
With thanks to Wikipedia:WikiProject Palestine for their help and collaboration, Palestinian costumes has been promoted to good article status. It describes the important role that textile creation traditionally played in the lives of Palestinian woman. As recently as the 1940s, knowledgeable observers could tell a woman's economic status and village of origin by the details in her handmade clothing.
Article evaluations uncover a hidden good article: Knitta
Thanks to our new member Thedagomar, who rated articles for quality in February, the textile arts project discovered a hidden gem in the slush pile. Knitta is an urban graffiti group that began in Houston, Texas that tags sites with non-damaging fabrics to create a friendlier atmosphere. The original Houston crew has grown to 13 members and has been invited to exhibit their art internationally.

Portal:Textile Arts is holding a featured portal drive with help from expert featured portal editor Cirt. The drive needs better biographies, so if you have time and sources please help expand our biography articles.

The project saw huge growth in featured image content during February. Six new featured pictures got promoted and another previously featured picture related to the project got identified in February.
