List of Participants

edit

Please enlist below, newer enlistments should go to the bottom of the list.

What will happen next

edit
  • The contestants should start working on their articles immediately. The assessment will begin from August 1, 2008. So only edits made before that date will be considered for evaluation.
  • To be eligible for any award the selected article must be close to meeting the Good article criteria and must be worthy for a Good article nomination by July 31, 2008. If the article can be "quick failed" from GA candidacy due to serious lacking in any GA criteria (especially incomplete coverage, poor text, inadequate sourcing/citation and use of materials with unclear copyright status), the respective contestant will not be considered for any award. if none of the 14 articles get to this standard by July 31, 2008, there will be no award and the competition will be closed.
  • If contestants have any question regarding the competition or in general regarding how to edit the article, they should post it on the Noticeboard page also linked from the top of this page.
  • For all matters relating to the award, the decision of the organizing committee will be final.

The competition

edit

The first phase will last for 4 months starting from the date of announcement. This timeline has been extended by 1 month from previously announced 3 months considering the convenience of the contestants. During this time each participant should work on the selected article to promote it to Good Article or better even Featured Article status.

After the completion of this phase, if clear winners emerge then the results will be announced immediately. Otherwise the top 5 performers may be requested to compete in a second phase which would help to identify the best performer.

Regarding the selection of winner the decisions taken by the competition organizers will be the final.

Who will be judging

edit

The organizing committee will also serve as the judging panel. The panel is chaired by a seasoned wikipedian and an admin on wikipedia.

The reward

edit

The best "Deshipedian" identified from this competition will be entitled "Deshipedian 2008" and will be awarded a cash prize of Tk. 5,000/-.
