I know that this is a rather anomalous arcade title, as Code One Dispatch has received surprisingly low amounts of documentation, gameplay footage, or reviews from really any noteworthy sources. Regardless of this however, it is still a fully verifiable title from a major arcade game developer/publisher (Konami) and I believe it deserves more noteworthiness via sources such as Wikipedia. I played through the title circa 2004 and have personal experience of the gameplay indicated. It is also mentioned on already existing Wikipedia pages such as List_of_Konami_games in the '2000' section. Overall, I think this title is no less noteworthy than any other rare or obscure title from an accredited publisher. I think this can be said of most games from the Viper System really, which also happen to have their own Wikipedia documentation. Ioujka (talk) 11:31, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Ioujka: Wikipedia only publishes articles for topics that have received significant coverage in sources. Criteria such as "deserves more noteworthiness" or "accredited publisher" aren't really used. If you can find more sources (preferably reviews, development history and alike) such as from those listed at WP:VG/RS, then it can be re-reviewed. But most arcades aren't really notable in Wikipedia's terms and were never covered by sources. —  HELLKNOWZ   ▎TALK 12:37, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have created this article on behalf of a friend who is probably the closest living relative of John Cranch and probably the leading authority on him. My friend has found several errors in the existing "John Cranch (English Painter)" article and wishes to replace it in its entirety by a new article. It is important to him that the title is "John Cranch (Painter, Attorney and Antiquarian)" so he would like to create the new article and then delete the existing one. @Radarman444: Hello. Please read WP:AUTOPROB for advice on how to deal with inaccuracies in an article about oneself. Any content you add to the existing article should be traceable back to a published source. Information your friend has about their relative based only on their personal experiences isn't suitable for adding to a Wikipedia article. @Radarman444: Also note that John Cranch (English painter) will not be moved to the proposed title no matter how important it is to your friend, because the proposed title violates the policy on Wikipedia:Article titles. --Worldbruce (talk) 21:30, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I must admit to being a bit puzzled here; maybe because I'm a newbie. (a) How is "advice about inaccuracies in an article about oneself" relevant when the painter in question died 200 years ago. (b) The information about Cranch is not based only on personal experience as, again, Cranch died 200 years ago. My friend has written a learned book on Cranch and so can be seen as an authority on the man.

My apologies if I have inadvertently done the wrong thing; I'm just looking for guidance here. I think, from what you are saying, that I should just edit the original Cranch page so I'll go ahead and do that. I'm sure the change of title is not a show-stopper. I think I did not understand how to insert references in the article. Why do they stay invisible?

Diana Gabriela Ciorba (talk) 19:05, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Diana Gabriela Ciorba, I've looked at the source code, and you have nothing that is invisible. If you are using the source editor, you need to insert references inline using the <ref> Your ref here </ref> . If you're using the visual editor, when you click to make a ref, make sure to also insert the ref once its been autoformatted. Make sure you add these inline, next to the statement they support, not at the end of the article. Wikipedia will automatically make a reference list at the end for you.
