We are trying to get the company page (above) published, but require some help. We were informed that it was not written from a neutral point of view, so we have re-worded this now. We were also informed that there were not enough references/links, so we have added a few more. Could you advise anything else we can do to get this page live?

Kind Regards Neil

Hi Neilkvaughan. Please clarify what you mean by "we". The policy on Wikipedia is "one user—one account". Usernames should not be shared by multiple individuals. --Worldbruce (talk) 13:19, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Neilkvaughan: And please read WP:SELFCITE. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 09:39, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Chiragragijani: if the subject is your father, you have a Conflict of interest. If the draft gets accepted, you will get a notification on your user talk page. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 09:37, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I am being paid to write an article on my company for Wiki. It has been declined by one reviewer, in part, from what I understand, because he/she believes the subject of the article lacks notability. I studied the Wiki standards for notability for a corporation and prepared an analysis of why I think my submission meets these standards. By using the grid on the Wiki site for the criteria of Significance, Independence, Reliability, and Secondary sourcing, I determined that 16 of the 21 references in the article pass the test of notability for corporations, the remainder are background references that provide context for the article.

I have several questions. 1. Do I send my analysis to the reviewer who declined my article? Another reviewer advised against this. 2. Two newspaper articles that I referenced exclusively featured my company. One is behind a firewall and the other is in French. How can a reviewer determine notability if they cannot access or read the references? 3. If my COI status is an impediment to acceptance, can I give the draft article and reference material to someone in the Wiki community to write the article for me?

Your advice will be most appreciated. DriverSafety (talk) 15:12, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

My decline notice quite clearly says "This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia" and it still does, this is why you are strongly encouraged not to create articles about your own company. Theroadislong (talk) 15:17, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings. I created an article Jean-Paul Gazeau in March. I was informed that the article read too much like a CV. I assumed therefore that the article was rejected. In August I created a new article draft, same file name, but revised to address concerns expressed by the editors. Recently I was informed that this new draft was rejected because "the article appears to be a duplicate of another submission, Jean-Paul Gazeau, which is also waiting to be reviewed." How shall I advance with this?

  • Substitute the new text into the original document?
  • Delete the original document and resubmit the second-created document?
  • Or?

I will be most grateful for your advice. Thank you.

Rmurenzi (talk) 15:31, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rmurenzi. In future, don't start a new page when you want to make revisions. The decline of User:Rmurenzi/sandbox/Jean-Pierre Gazeau as a duplicate of Draft:Jean-Pierre Gazeau was incorrect. That reason would apply only if Draft:Jean-Pierre Gazeau were also awaiting review, which it wasn't. Therefore the decline of the sandbox has been reverted, it is back in its place in the "queue", and will be reviewed on its merits in due course (the backlog stands at 5 months). You don't have to do anything about the old draft, it will likely be deleted shortly as stale. When that happens, it's possible that someone will move the sandbox, don't let that confuse you. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:06, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

TVaughanSoCal (talk) 17:33, 16 September 2019 (UTC) Hello, Please help...The individual my article is about is a founding member of a 40 year old punk rock band. The band (including his name) is all over Wikipedia and other members have their own articles. I've followed the suggesstions and added several more references from viable sources that are facts from interviews, press, movie appearnaces etc...and it was declined again...HELP please getting frustrated. Thank you kindly. TvaughanSoCal[reply]

Hi TVaughanSoCal. One of the reviewers pointed you to the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics. They could have saved you some frustration by pointing out the specific guideline that is relevant. Members of notable bands (e.g. T.S.O.L.) are redirected to the article about the band, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band. Roche is notable only in connection with T.S.O.L., so there will be no stand alone article about Roche.
Other members of the band may have individual articles because they've done something for which they're notable outside the band (solo releases that have attracted significant critical attention, for example). Or having their own articles may be a mistake, perhaps no one has gotten around to redirecting them. See the essay "Other stuff exists" to help understand why it's irrelevant to this draft whether there are articles about other members of the band or not. --Worldbruce (talk) 22:46, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

FYI. This morning, I asked several questions about defending or resubmitting a declined article Draft: Virage Simulation. I have since resubmitted the much-edited article. So, for the time being, those questions are no longer pertinent.
