Sir we write a wikipedia page for Azeotropy (Chemical Engineering festival of IIT Bombay)as neutral as possible but it get rejected. We explained everything from a general perspective as much as possible. So could you provide us with more specific reason of its rejection after watching on it. Which section is not proper. P.S We don't have much references in newspapers or anywhere as it is in initial stage only. 122.182.24.142 (talk) 07:46, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Primarily, thus submission is not written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. It would require a fundamental rewrite in order to meet that requirement. Additionally, the submission lacks references to reliable sources that are required to demonstrate the subjects notability. Please see WP:VRS and WP:Guide to writing better articles. Hi, This article I had created was rejected because of the absence of 'reliable sources'. Various (mutually exclusive and independent) websites and journals have been referenced backing all the things that have been mentioned in the article. Can you please guide me as to what else should be done? Thanks.

I've   Accepted your submission and you can now find it at Sportskeeda. I'm unsure why the previous reviewer declined it. As you point out the reason they gave did not seem to apply. Pol430 talk to me 12:17, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, How can I add a picture to an article? Entekhabat (talk) 16:15, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're account is not yet autoconfirmed and so you are unable to upload files to Wikipedia. If the image you wish to upload is compatibly licensed, or in the public domain, you can upload it to Wikimedia commons. If the file is non-free but qualifies for use on Wikipedia under a fair use rationale, you can make a request at Files for upload. Pol430 talk to me 20:18, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I am a wikipedia novice and trying to create English translation of Japanese Wikipedia pages. I translated two Japanese articles on museum/temple of our local region and requested review by using "Article Wizard" but they were declined (Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura & Hayama, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Eisho-ji) as "the references do not adequately evidence the subject's notability". My understanding is that Wikipeidia recognizes translation is useful to spread information and provides guidances for it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Translation). Information of regional items are hardly found in foreign launguages to refer to and I wonder translation of an article is evidenced by reference to its original language article (by using translation template) at its initial publication. I will appreciate it if you provide guidances or practical suggestions to make my translated article to be considered enough evidenced. Thanks.

Use the same references in the English article as are used in the Japanese article that you translated. Sources in any language are accepted in the English Wikipedia. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 16:39, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that my article listed below was rejected by Jamesx12345 with no comments. My question is why was it rejected? I am Historian for the Registry and patterned the article after a Wikipedia article on the American Society of Animal Science. On the formatting, when I pasted the article into the Wikipedia page, the formatting was lost. So, how do I preserve the formatting?

Thanks

Jamesx12345 has left an explanation of the formatting issues at your talk page. But that's just one of the draft's problems, and while it's the most obvious it's not the worst. Your draft cites no sources beyond ARPAS' own website; that's simply not enough. Wikipedia articles should be based on reliable sources that are independent of the subject, and their website clearly is not independent. Without reliable third-party sources we cannot accept a draft. Huon (talk) 23:46, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this process made so user unfriendly?

edit

Why is this process made so user unfriendly? I want to edit a page and it gets deleted. Really frustrating experience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chris pirie (talkcontribs) 21:37, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AFC submissions are not deleted unless they are blatant copyright violations or potentially defamatory personal attacks. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 21:50, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Or in this case, if the submission sits un-edited for more than six months. After which time it is presumed abandoned and deleted as a general housekeeping task. Pol430 talk to me 22:36, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Is this Good Housekeeping? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 04:44, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
off-topicThis is the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. :) davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 05:23, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
