I am creating an article and including a table of a specific composer's filmography. I have two questions:

Since this composer exclusively makes soundtracks for movies and television should I name this section 'Filmography' or 'Discography'?

My second question is that I have created this table from information all on one IMDB page. I want to reference this information so do I just put a <ref ...> tag underneath the table? --Macadamia1472 (talk) 02:25, 3 February 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Macadamia1472 (talkcontribs) 02:23, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Since it's a list of films, I'd call it "filmography". Since IMDb doesn't contribute much to the composer's notability anyway (we'd need reviews in film or music magazines or maybe news coverage for that anyway), I'd probably put his IMDb page into a dedicated "external links" section at the very end and not cite it as the explicit source for the table. We even have an {{IMDb name}} template for this purpose. Huon (talk) 02:43, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Submission

edit

Simple question, but there is no "submit" button for when you've made changes to a page. I'm attempting to create a new article, and it's been rejected. How do I submit it again? Does it automatically get resubmitted after I edit it? I edited it once on January 10 and have received no response. I edited once again today.

The page is Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The G2 Gallery

Thank you.

The lowest "submission declined" message has instructions for resubmission: "When you are ready to resubmit, click here." You can also submit a page manually by adding {{subst:submit}} to the very top of the page. However, the draft has not been edited since December 4; the issues raised in the last review have not been addressed. Instead you apparently created a second draft in your sandbox. To avoid confusion I strongly suggest merging the drafts and improving Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The G2 Gallery. The sandbox draft is in even worse shape anyway; it heavily depends on primary sources such as the Gallery's own website, and the references are bare URLs. Hello. If I was writing an article about a musician, and some information came from the actual musician themselves, how would I cite them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bassapalooza (talkcontribs) 23:18, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Probably not at all. Wikipedia content should be based on reliable published sources that are independent of the subject, such as news reports or reviews in reputable music magazines. I don't think "they told me" is an acceptable source - there's no way our readers can verify that. It's not independent either, and that also holds for the band's own website. The only source besides the band's website is an interview in a "music magazine" that is a glorified blog, not quite as reliable as we'd like. Huon (talk) 02:53, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
