Template:TheRedgraveFamily (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

This is barely a template, it is just a group of links that are already contained in the article on which this template was used (Vanessa Redgrave) and has no other function. We don't have templates for actors and there are no other existing "family" templates of which I'm aware. I see no purpose for it. Wildhartlivie (talk) 18:56, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - not used anywhere, and shouldn't be. This can be added into an article directly, but generally family information should be written out as text anyway. Robofish (talk) 01:39, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Not a useful template and contains so little information that it should be placed directly in articles that need it. |→ Spaully 16:40, 29 May 2009 (GMT)

  • Comment {{Chinese}} does NOT do anything like the template under discussion. 70.29.208.129 (talk) 03:58, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment There's something wrong with {{Chinese-inline}} ... only one IPA is supported, for Cantonese... not even for Mandarin... 70.29.208.129 (talk) 04:01, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep we have templates like {{Zh-tsp}}, {{zh-stpw}} etc, there's nothing wrong with having this one as well. 70.29.208.129 (talk) 04:02, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • For your information: I'm sorry, but as a rule in Wikipedia, votes from IP-address editors don't count. ;-) - Alan (talk) 05:22, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • FYI you're wrong. WP:CONSENSUS states that voting is not to be used, consensus building is the proper process. As for ignoring IP users, you're also wrong on that. Show me a policy page that states that IP users are worthless. Hell, look at the history of TfD to see that IP users do count. 70.29.208.129 (talk) 07:07, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's no longer used at Ashes of Time because you replaced it with {{Chinese}}, but that does not appear to be working at the moment - nothing appears. Unless you fix it I propose to revert. - Fayenatic (talk) 08:17, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep It is not mutually exclusive to the proposed deletion of the template. Btw, Alanmak, you can't silence IP editors just because they chose not to use a username. They are still free to express their views. And majority of Wikipedia is built by IP editors anyways. OhanaUnitedTalk page 17:29, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The template does nothing more than adding a link to the Jyutping article. I don't think it is too hard to type [[ ]] that we need a template to do a link. Also, the template is no longer used in any article.

Navigates to too few articles. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 05:25, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak Keep - five articles is perhaps just enough for a navigational template. It's only used on two of them, though... Robofish (talk) 01:37, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. The topic covered by template directly includes only two articles (one of which is the main biography) and three "related articles". Looking at the content of the three other templates being used in Harry James Angus, I don't think that the presence of this fourth template facilitates navigation, since 4 of the 5 links present in this template are also present in the others. –BLACK FALCON (TALK) 18:25, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
