  • Speedy delete. This is not something it's supposed to be a template. The only article that transcludes it it's about to be deleted and it seems the person who created both the article and the template has a conflict of interest. -- Magioladitis (talk) 16:11, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Tory seats (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

There are already countless templates linking British parliamentary constituencies on national, regional, and electoral bases. This template uses a nickname rather than a standard name ("Tory" is not standard, "Conservative Party" is). This template will duplicate a lot of links on pages where regional or national navigation templates are already used. I note the creator /appears/ to be an anoymous IP which may say something about this template's creation. I suggest this template is deleted on the grounds of it being un-necessary given the existing templates serving the same purpose. doktorb wordsdeeds 19:07, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per Doktorbuk. Unnecessary template that simply duplicates information already available on several others. - Galloglass 20:38, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • If kept, it should be renamed... Tory is too confusing, too many Tory parties in the world 70.51.8.75 (talk) 05:23, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I created it (forgot to log in at the time), and I think that it makes sense. Many people mis-spell 'Conservative', so 'Tory' is easier. I shall change the name to UK Tory seats. I was planning on making a similar page for Labour.-Alex Kinloch
Reply Alex, that is not the issue I have with the template. Look at the constituency pages you're adding the template to. It is duplicating the regional and national navigation templates. We already have lists of seats won by party and lists of MPs elected in each election. I really hope you can work on the project, I don't want to discourage you, but this template is not that helpful. doktorb wordsdeeds 08:23, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • If kept, it should be renamed - the Tory Party hasn't existed for more than a century and the name is often used as a term of derision. George The Dragon (talk) 20:41, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete -- The representation of a constituency by one party may be correct today, but this changes at every election for some constituencies, such a templete will thus need maintenance after every election, even if it were a templete for current conservative constitencies. However, this sort of thing is much better done in lists (perhaps regionally). In my view templates need to be used sparingly. After a general election, a list would not need to be rewritten, and could instead be renamed with a suitable historic title. On the other hand, the tag added to the articles "toryseats" does not appear in the visible text and is perhaps acceptable, though "ConservativeUKseats" would be better still (if kept at all). Peterkingiron (talk) 11:02, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - agree with Peterkingiron: template seems not very useful and would clutter pages; a list would be more useful and could be kept updated to show seats by party after a general election, updated to also show any by-election changes during that parliament. (Can a list of 635 entries be made into a sortable table? If so, then there's scope to sort by constit name, party, majority, region, ... but I suspect that it would be too big to sort, a pity!) Template:Orgsestcat (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

For standardization purposes, this template should be superceded by Template:Cat topic in year. Instead of writing {{orgsestcat|2007}}, you would then write {{Cat topic in year| topic=Organizations established| year=2007 }}. The latter is well arranged, retional, and works conversely with {{Cat topic in year| topic=Organizations disestablished| year=2007 }}. Punkmorten (talk) 16:02, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree with that and since its been more than 10 that it was nominated and nobody seems to disagree, I think you have to start replacing. -- Magioladitis (talk) 23:48, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is one of a set of six templates created solely for specific Batman villains. The relavent articles are sufficently linked through the primary article, Two-Face.
