  • Mechanical Contractor - When I pass by construction sites I often see trucks and (more typically) vans labeled, "Mechanical Contractors" and was wondering exactly what that means. Based largely upon my observation of the presence of these trucks and vans at different stages in the building process I think the term may generally mean building contractors who specialize in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work, but it might also include surveyors and those who do structural engineering and analysis. I'm sure I'm not the only person to wonder this, so it would be helpful to have an Wiki article on it. Note to Editor - Before adding this request, I looked through the various categories and thought this might be most germane. Feel free to move this request to a different category if you know of one with more appropriate content. Many thanks
