July 22 edit

Alice and Bob edit

Alright, this is a really silly question: Can anyone come up with a famous/"notable" and real married couple (ideally, let's say, both should have a Wikipedia article, else one of them should be more famous than just having a Wikipedia article) named Alice and Bob? Thanks! ---Sluzzelin talk 02:47, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Found Bob Bender "married to his wife, Alice" (didn't know him), and Alice Lake was briefly married to Robert Williams who apparently was also called 'Bob' ("Alice Lake Wants Divorce; Says Bob Williams Is Cruel"). I now have examples, but if anyone knows of another, possibly more 'famous' one, ... ---Sluzzelin talk 04:22, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ali MacGraw (full name Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) was for three years married to producer Robert Evans, aka Bob Evans according to IMDb. Our article on him quotes him as saying "Bob 'Cocaine' Evans is how I'll be known to my grave". --Antiquary (talk) 09:10, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Antiquary! Two celebrities I've heard of! ---Sluzzelin talk 10:00, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
An article on the device of using names instead of just letters. Maybe we also need an article for the long-standing device used in the MLB rules, postulating a batting order consisting of "Abel, Baker, Charles, Daniel, Edward, Frank, George, Hooker and Irwin". ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 11:41, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I found two examples on Wikidata with this query:
Ali MacGraw isn’t found because she doesn’t have a “given name” statement on Wikidata. --TweetsFactsAndQueries (talk) 14:04, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That's a nifty search tool. Thanks, TweetsFactsAndQueries! ---Sluzzelin talk 09:10, 23 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The individuals comprising Stiller and Meara and Captain & Tennille were married, with each spouse having his own article. μηδείς (talk) 18:07, 22 July 2017 (UTC) Ooops, thought any named couples were being looked for, not just A & B's. μηδείς (talk) 18:09, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And apparently not to be confused with Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice. Just think, if "Ted" were instead named "Dave" we would have the first four letters covered. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 19:12, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
