Samsung Galaxy Note 7 recall identification edit

There's an on-going recall with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Seems like affected users will be given a brand new replacement phone. Do these replacement phone have a different model number or an identifying feature to differentiate them from the "problematic" phones? Pizza Margherita (talk) 05:52, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Why should they - the problem is the battery, rather than the phone itself. Wymspen (talk) 09:29, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Note batteries are no longer separate from the phone.--WaltCip (talk) 14:32, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If I'm buying a used Galaxy Note 7 down the road I would like to check whether it's one of the "problematic" ones or not. Many airlines now have restrictions on this particular model of the phone. It'd be nice if the people with the replacement phones can show the airline staff that their phone is not one of the "problematic" ones.Pizza Margherita (talk) 21:04, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Here is some info from Australia. I assume it will be similar in other markets. [1] Dragons flight (talk) 14:53, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot! Eventually someone will come up with an IMEI checking app, I assume. Pizza Margherita (talk) 21:06, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Encyclopedia brand/publisher edit

Trying to recall a particular brand of a kids / youth print encyclopedia I had a few volumes of back in the early to mid 90s, and I don't feel like going over to my parents' house to rummage around through old books. Each volume is hardcover and a dark blue with gold lettering and silhouette detailing with gold background on the front. Each volume is about 1/4" to 1/2" thick. It also has a world atlas as a separate volume. I've poked through some of the encyclopedia categories, plus tried some googling, but no luck. (No it's not the Book of Knowledge. This one has a strip of gold near the bottom of the front cover with silhouettes of children and animals on it.) RegistryKey(RegEdit) 09:58, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

World Book Encyclopedia maybe? Category:English-language encyclopedias may also help you with your research. --Jayron32 14:36, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I had a World Book (a generation earlier); its volumes were not so thin. —Tamfang (talk) 21:17, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. The thickness sounds more like the Golden Book Encyclopedia, but I recall their covers as being more colorful than I believe is being described here. -- ToE 22:02, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Your cover description sounds like Childcraft. The color scheme seems to have varied over the years, but if you do an image search on the term and you will see that some have the dark blue and gold with colorful silhouettes of children and animals at the base of the spine. -- ToE 22:16, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
When I was a youngster we had a set of books called "Encyclopedia Britannica Junior". It wasn't blue, though. It was brownish, as I recall. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 01:25, 10 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No it's not those either unfortunately. This one almost looks like the Book of Knowledge with the single-color blue cover, but it's still different enough. I guess I'll see if I can find it next time I happen to go by my parent's house. RegistryKey(RegEdit) 04:42, 10 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
