editWhat type of rhyme is it when it starts with the same consonant or sound followed by the same vowel sound and differs only in the pronunciation of last letter(s)? For example, force, fourth. Maybe I could call this left rhyme, in contrast with right rhyme, the most popular form of rhyme. PlanetStar 21:12, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
- Probably you're looking for "assonance". Possibly consonance. I'd also call it "near rhyme" or "lazy rhyme" or "imperfect rhyme", or even non-rhyme, since it's so jarring where one expects a perfect rhyme, but I'm strict that way. - Nunh-huh 22:46, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
