19th-century play, 'Fashion' edit

In the 1950s there was produced at UCLA a musical play named Fashion. It featured white actors and actresses in blackface presenting a very popular work from the 19th Century. Several people walked out of the theater because of the racial stereotyping. Does anybody have information on this play because I would like to write an article about it? Thank you. The original play is by Anna Cora Mowatt, and there's a link to the text in that article. The book of the musical is published by Samuel French, and available (to buy, for $8.95) here. I'll see if I can find out anything more about the UCLA production. Tevildo (talk) 19:46, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
