December 18 edit

Sony Greatest Hits releases edit

When Sony re-releases a video game as part of its Greatest Hits line, is the game modified in any way? Obviously, the outside packaging is changed to indicate that it is Greatest Hits release, but has the game itself been updated in any way, or is there any additional content included in the package? I know that the Greatest Hits version of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance also includes a Special Edition bonus disc, but I'm not aware of any other Greatest Hits games that are different from the original. --209.64.172.130 (talk) 15:25, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is not uncommon for games to have multiple versions. It is not possible to include all of them on a single Greatest Hits collection. For example, Final Fantasy usually has a Japanese version. After that, the game is altered (bug fixes and gameplay alterations) for an American version. Then, it is altered again for a European release. Which version is considered the "Greatest Hists" version? As for including bonus disks - many games have add-on packages. Selling the original game with the add-ons is common. So, it is not possible to state that Sony modifies ALL re-released games or NO re-released games. It has to be asked on a game-by-game basis. -- kainaw 17:23, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The Greatest Hits series is exclusively North American. Instead, Japan has PSOne Books and Ultimate Hits, and the PAL regions have the Platinum range. In any case, I am aware that most games are altered when they are released in other regions, so my question is really more about the difference between the original North American release of a game and its re-release as a Greatest Hits game. Usually, there is no apparent difference between the two releases other than the external packaging, implying that the two releases are identical. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is the only Greatest Hits game that I am aware of that contained bonus material not in the original version. --209.64.172.130 (talk) 18:38, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't remember which, but I remember a PS1 Greatest Hits release that started with a notice that "Squaresoft" was now called "SquareEnix", but the rest of the game used the company's old name and logos. I'm not sure if that helps you at all. 72.10.110.107 (talk) 21:03, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alleged Playboy airbrushing "incident" edit

A Polish gossip site http://deser.gazeta.pl (not a reliable source) claims that one of the recently published US Playboy magazines had published a picture of a model with an edited out navel."What is wrong with this Playboy bunny?" Can anyone confirm or deny this claim? The website does not give any deteils besides the fact that the model was Brazilian. Mieciu K (talk) 23:29, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It has happened only once that I know of, but it has been accused of happening many times. The last one I saw was this one (no nudity). It appears that her navel is airbrushed out - but it is more likely that it is hidden behind the blouse. The pants are so low that it gives the appearance that her navel should be lower than it actually is. -- kainaw 04:59, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
