Earbuds not of equal volume

Hello! So this may seem like an odd question, but for the past year or so, I've been using JLab Audio brand earbuds, and they tend to work fine... for a few months. Then randomly one or both of the earbuds will get much quieter in volume. With my most recent pair I've found that if I remove the mesh screen (I think that's what it is) covering the actual speaker then the volume is normal. My question is why does this happen and is there a way I can prevent it from happening and/or fix it without removing the mesh screen? I'm thinking it may be due to a buildup of ear wax on the screen but I'm not entirely sure. ― Blaze Wolf^Talk_{Blaze Wolf#6545} 20:08, 1 May 2023 (UTC)

I would definitely start by cleaning them. Just Google it or take a look at the Wikihow article (scroll down to the earbud section). Clean the plug at the same time: the volume balance can also be affected by a poor connection. Shantavira|^{feed me} 08:17, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

Also breaking some of the wire in the connection might cause intermittent drops in volume. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:55, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
