August 11 edit

Friends, I downloaded and extracted the entitled software today; I selected 'OpenCV for Windows' link. I did not find the '.exe' after downloading and extracting. I'm assuming now that you might have to do something extra for example coding or something...what I'm not good at. Can someone help me in order to install this in a step by step manner please? -- Space Ghost (talk) 08:12, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Did you read The installation documentation? Rojomoke (talk) 12:06, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I actually don't understand it very well. I'll retry tomorrow again cause I have to go to sleep... -- Space Ghost (talk) 18:41, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OpenCV is a set of technologies and source-code for computer programmers. If you aren't already deeply familiar with it, consider getting a book to introduce the topic.
The stuff you downloaded is designed for expert programmers who are already very familiar with the technology. It is not going to be very novice-friendly. There is no "OpenCV application" or ".exe" file. OpenCV for Windows comes with some example applications, but you will have to build them yourself. Most of what you downloaded is source code for the library; it is intended for use by "coders."
