Wikipedia:Peer review/U.S. Highway 66/archive1
US Highway 66, or "Route 66", is probably the most famous highway in the world and I would like to see it become a featured article. The article was started by someone else sometime ago (it was probably the first article on a US highway). I have done a lot of work to remove duplications found in several places in the article, added material about the creation of the highway, its current status, links to articles about state highways which replaced it and other articles related to it, and did some general cleanup. Any comments are welcome. Rt66lt 03:13, September 3, 2005 (UTC)
- Here's my comments:
- The nicknames section need to be moved down so that all the history sections can be read in one go.
- "The fall of the "Mother Road" should come before "Early 20th Century American pop culture" (Put the history in chronological order)
- There is no references section
- Wikipedia is not a place to put driving instructions. I would at the very least change the phrasing of the last paragraph in the lead to something more encyclopedic or move it to WikiTravel entirely.
- The link to Wikitravel is an external link and should be moved to the external links section. - Mgm|(talk) 10:20, September 7, 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestions! Did all of this. Rt66lt 00:51, September 8, 2005 (UTC)
- I've replaced the route66 image with a SVG one, since Wikipedia supports SVG now... I was happy to find high res and free images. :) --Gmaxwell 04:55, 13 September 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the image. Rt66lt 03:22, 17 September 2005 (UTC)
