Extinct language

time for some peer review? This whole article looks like a mess of original research. Anyone got any materials that support the assertions made herein for the definition of "extinct language"? Tomer TALK 01:21, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)

I think Tomer's comments about sum it up. There seems to be some confusion about the definition. There also seems to be some confusion about Cornish. Reports of its extinction were greatly exaggerated, yet I fear now its revival is being greatly exaggereated as well. This needs a lot of work, and frankly, I don't have the knowledge to do it alone. Reports of Cornish's extinction were not at all exaggerated. Literally no one spoke it throughout the nineteenth century. It was revived in the 20th century and now there are even children in Cornish-medium schools. My personal neologism for languages like Manx and Cornish is "undead language" (or "zombie language"). --Angr/_{tɔk tə mi} 2 July 2005 17:13 (UTC)

However, Wikipedia:Peer review is not what we need. As the page says, "This page is for nearly Featured-standard articles that need the final checking by peers before being nominated as Featured article candidates."
