There are a number of smaller trails very near the Coast Path, which often take users inland on shorter routes; these include:
- Aberdaron to Uwchmynydd circular route. This is an easy walk around the tip of Llŷn, and takes around 4 hours to complete. This walk is around 6.2 miles (10 km) in length. Common birds in this area include the Yellowhammer, Oystercatcher, Rock Pipit, Bullfinch, Spotted Flycatcher, Common Whitethroat, Blackcap and Sparrowhawk.[1]
- Lôn Las Menai cycle trail. This 4.3-mile (7 km) trail runs south from the village of Felinheli to the historic town of Caernarfon, parallel to the Menai Straits, passes Plas Menai, the National Watersports Centre for Wales. It should take no more than an hour and a half to complete and has a hard surface; all gates have been removed. It is a gentle route and connects with Lon Eifion, a 12-mile (20 km) (25-mile (40 km) return trip) cycleway that runs from south of Caernarfon to Bryncir.[2]
- Nant Gwrtheyrn to Tre'r Ceiri. This is a moderate 5.6-mile (9 km) walk, running from the language centre of Nant Gwrtheyrn (SH349448), near the sea, to Wales' most spectacular hillforts: the Iron Age hill fort of Tre'r Ceiri (SH372446). It should take around 3 hours. Nant Gwrtheyr has a large car park and restaurant.
