The Wanderer Above a Sea of Fog by Friedrich (1818)

As per my previous accepted nomination for Dante and Virgil in Hell, this is a beautiful painting, lovingly photographed. This came from Commons where it will be featured shortly. It can be seen at Caspar David Friedrich.

  • comment I understand what you guys mean about it not being particularly interesting, nevertheless it is one of the most significant paintings by aguably the best romantic painter.
