Original – Pauline Kirby, Army Nurse Corps.

Reason: She's one of those people who have a complicated career, so it's a little hard to summarise, but, suffice to say, a notable Army nurse who was one of the first two nurses to be given the rank of Colonel, and set up neuropsychiatric hospitals in the South West Pacific Area during WWII as Assistant Director of Nursing, amongst other things.
