Washington Township is one of ten townships in Knox County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 2,256 (slightly down from 2,286 at 2010[3]) and it contained 1,040 housing units.[4]

History
editIt is named for George Washington.[6]
Enoco Coal Mine was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.[7]
Geography
editAccording to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 49.09 square miles (127.1 km2), of which 48.84 square miles (126.5 km2) (or 99.49%) is land and 0.24 square miles (0.62 km2) (or 0.49%) is water.[3]
