Half-Life 2 images edit

While I approve of the better pics you added, whenever you remove a picture or screenshot, please add it to the Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion, or else they might never be deleted and take up unnecessary space. I know you are a new member, but I just wanted to tell you so you remember next time. Thunderbrand 18:48, May 20, 2005 (UTC)

Half-Life 2 edit

I submitted Half-Life 2 to be peer reviewed, since I will nominate it for Wikipedia: Featured article candidates. It seems we need to shorten up the article even more, since the first 2 reviews are suggesting that. So I would like your help in getting Half-Life 2 on its way to FA status. Please visit the talk section of H-L2 for more info. Thunderbrand 04:18, Jun 4, 2005 (UTC)

Streets of SimCity edit

The song that makes fun of the graphical glitches in the game is called, I believe, "You're the czar (when you've got a kick@$$ car)."

It's in the rock section of the game, and is one of the worst songs i've ever heard.

I'll look in my manual later for more information. Coolgamer 17:50, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC)

Make sure the lid's on tight! edit

I merged Hot coffee and Hot Coffee mod because they are duplicate articles. Having two different articles on the same thing leads to different quality articles and creates double the work for everyone. The reason I merged into Hot coffee specifically is because it's up for VfD. You are welcome to edit this article, but please do not blank, merge, or move this article, or remove this notice, while the discussion is in progress. Simply creating a second Hot Coffee article is not an appropriate way to bypass VfD. After the VfD has concluded, I would fully support moving the article to Hot Coffee mod, and will change the note at the top to reflect that. -- Norvy (talk) 14:50, 20 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Mafia Sentinel vfd edit

We were thinking right along the same lines, it seems. I've put that article up for VfD; there's no sense in letting a precendent for individual articles for every GTA car stand. Fernando Rizo 19:33, 23 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

This week's computer and video games improvement drive edit

Apollogies for the misunderstanding for puting the IFD template on Image:Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories box.jpg. Mathieumcguire 10:18, 25 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

SimCity 4 - SimSuburb Reference edit

I do not disagree with your reason for removing the reference. There are few hits on Google and none discuss the specific critisism. That really confuses me, though. I did not coin that term. It was something I picked up in the discussion forums right after the game came out.

If you do know where the term originated though, you could cite the source(s): place the link of the forum thread(s) mentioning it after the "SimSuburb" sentence. I'll have no objections if I see sufficient evidence, but most non-notable or obscure info will have to be removed. Belated welcome to Wikipedia, by the way. :) ╫ 25 ring-a-ding 10:48, 1 December 2005 (UTC) ╫Reply
If I remember correctly it would have been in the SimCity 4 General Discussion thread over at sc4ever.com. One problem, though. All the posts from 2003 are missing...
Odd indeed. Thread posts from May 1998 to May 2004 are missing. Unfortunately, this would mean that we won't have much evidence to back up the SimSuburb statement. ╫ 25 ring-a-ding 18:22, 1 December 2005 (UTC) ╫Reply

External links edit

I removed the external link to Moby Games that you added on the MDK2 article because it didn't appear to meet the criteria described in the External links guide. The decision whether or not to link to a commercial site is always a bit subjective, but the guide offers Rotten Tomatoes as an example of a site that might be ok to link to. This appears to be based on the quality of the reviews offered and the amount of information available. Moby Games doesn't appear to offer the same caliber of information and reviews of the Maybe OK examples. Please discuss on the MDK2 Talk Page if you disagree. re Anon user adding "Russian Mob, Pal" passage in Claude Speed. edit

Hello Mysekurity.

I understand that you had a previous experience regarding the "Russian Mob, Pal" incident in the Grand Theft Auto III article. An anon user (suspected to be under rotating IPs [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] and a registered account, GTA 3) has been re-adding the passage in the Claude Speed article for the past week and a half, despite the lack of evidence on the statement and with the user failing to discuss the changes whatsoever in the talk pages. The user is also repeatedly replacing the PS2 boxart of Grand Theft Auto III with that of the PC boxart, from a version that features both images, also with no justification and no discussion in the talk pages.

The user is clearly violating Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines and Wikipedia:Etiquette by refusing to answer to questions and requests to discuss; I have also listed his/her activities in Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts, but I would also like to see if we can work together to resolve these disputes on our own before even thinking of anything like an RfC. ╫ 25 ring-a-ding 18:57, 21 December 2005 (UTC) ╫Reply

Thanks for contacting me, and though I am leaving shortly to attend a Meetup, I'll get to this when I get back. What I would first suggest you do is put {{verror}} on his (multiple) talk pages, to alert others that this user has vandalized in the past, then more as you see fit. I'm not sure exactly what to do at this moment, though I'll have your answer when I return. I think a few messages to try to reason with the vandal would be helpful, then a block if necessary. I thank you for bringing this to my attention, and you have my word that I'll deal with it later tonight (and if I don't feel free to spam my e-mail and talk pages). -Mysekurity(have you seen this?) 22:42, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
I see you've added a {{verror}} passage, plus the links to each page (except for User:GTA3, which I did myself, copy-pasting your wording, by the way, make sure to subst: the templates), and please notify me if the user keeps adding more in, or shows up again, and he'll be dealt with. Again, thanks for bringing it to my attention, and happy editing. -Mysekurity(have you seen this?) 03:34, 23 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City edit

Hey ZS, I saw you resized the GTAVC boxart from 250px to 180px. I don't think that's a good idea, as the boxart is now small and unclear, and a lot of infobox space is wasted. The length of the infobox is roughly the same with 180 or 250, and still penetrates only into the Setting section, so that's not a problem. Note that Katamari Damacy and StarCraft (both featured) all use 250px. Thanks in advance. «LordViD» 22:08, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

It's me again, just wanted to say thank you for fixing the infobox rating at GTAVC. I kept trying for hours to fix it but no luck. Thanks. «LordViD» 01:42, 24 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Re: GTA maps edit

All I did for the maps was use various PC modding tools (available on the net) to extract the radar images from the texture files. Then I used a (since lost) PHP script to arrange them in the right order (because there were far too many to collect together one at a time). This exact same method was used on the PC versions on all 3 of GTAIII, Vice City, and San Andreas. Using various in-game techniques, I deduced a scale for each map, then resized them accordingly so that the final images that I pieced together to make the whole map were of the same scale.

Although I must say I'm a little curious as to why you said you were considering doing the same for Liberty and Vice Cities... The map includes Liberty, Vice, and San Andreas all together to compare their relative sizes. --ZeromaruTC20:36, 25 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Re AFD tags edit

IIRC there is no standard policy on this; some AFD closers use the template, and some don't. (At least, that's the impression I got from the various deletion policy pages.) Thanks anyway. Johnleemk | Talk 02:57, 28 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
