Microsoft Office Word 2007 screenshot

Just wondering, why'd you revert Long's screenshot? I thought it looked better. --207.177.241.28 05:23, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism from 203.62.10.3

edit

On User_talk:203.62.10.3 you left:

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

I don't mean to be disrespectful or anything, and correct me if I'm wrong to tell you this, but I'm not sure if you realise that it is a shared IP used by practically all the schools in the A.C.T. (Australia). I don't know if that still means you should be able to block it, or anything, but I'm just letting you know.

My username is RazorICE (too lazy to log in) if you need to reply or anything. :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.62.10.3 (talkcontribs) 22:43, 13 Feb 2007 (UTC)

My vandalism on stainless steel

edit

I am sorry for vandalizing that page. I was sort of testing and joking at the same time, and knew it could be fixed, but didn't think it would make a difference, as it could be reverted in two seconds, and didn't have any idea about the whole vandalism deal. Thanks! (4.254.166.147)

I know, thanks!   Meteoroid (talk) 00:53, 8 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Jigs Image Uploads

edit

Looking around the website, it appears Jigs has begun uploading images containing copyrighted materials in addition to now following general Windows image guidelines. I noticed you posted a warning on his userpage, is there any action you can take against him at this time? Thanks! Chris (Talk) (Contribs) 05:57, 9 February 2007 (UTC) Reply

You may use an alternate account as long as you have the User Alternate Acct userbox. Meteoroid 03:03, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Archiving is bad enough, but that bot noxiously removes things that should be kept! 68.39.174.238 00:55, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hello, Meteoroid! I noticed you recently added a warning to this page. To me, this seems a bit unnecessary because in the past four months, only three users have uploaded new versions of the image, all of which were for technical reasons, and none of which (to my knowledge) have caused any altercations or revert wars. Furthermore, this message might discourage users from uploading a new version of the image, which is needed as explained by the tag on that page. I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter. Thanks, Dar-Ape 04:50, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please see 3RR to see why I posted the warning message on some images. Thank you. Meteoroid 04:53, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Could you be a bit more specific? Since 3RR does not apply to one's own edits, I don't see any point during the upload history of this image that 3RR was even close to being broken. Dar-Ape 04:57, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

71.100.105.21 IP bot?

edit

How were you able to tell that 71.100.105.21 was running an IP bot? He had only made 6 edits. While I do believe that he was a vandal and deserved the blocking, I was just wondering why you put that statement there. Thanks for the help, - Hairchrm 03:47, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

71.100.105.21 IS running an IP bot; please see this user's contributions Meteoroid 03:50, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I did check, couldn't he (/she) just have copy/pasted? That is easy, and wouldn't most bots post more than just 6 edits?? - Hairchrm 04:06, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

re: rfa

edit

Thank you Meteoroid for the nom, but I feel I must decline. The thing is, I have not been very active recently, so therefore I have not gotten a chance to show the community how I would do in a dispute other than the way I used to deal with disputes when I was new. Also, I have not participated in XfD's recently, due to my inactivity, and have not shown the community how I deal in XfD's. I do plan on becoming more active in the near future and then I might try again at RfA, but now is not the time. GeorgeMoney (talk) 06:26, 19 February 2007 (UTC) Reply

I would like to thank you for the award that you gave me on February 11th. I have not been active recently so I did not see it until today. As it is my first award, it made me very happy. --β·σ·μ·η·ς·γ 06:19, 20 February 2007 (UTC) Reply

Re: Anti-Vandalism

edit

How did you revert edits faster than most users? — Meteoroid   03:36, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm using software similar to VandalProof, which watches Recent Changes and picks out edits most likely to be vandalism; it also keeps track of which users I've warned and that sort of thing. It's not that fast; if an administrator spots the edit they will generally beat me to it, as they have access to a feature called "rollback", which is built into the website and is faster – Qxz 03:43, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
What is the name of this software that you are using? — Meteoroid   03:56, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well... I wrote it myself, so it doesn't have a name (at least not yet). I've never used "AutoWikiBrowser", though looking at its page I don't think it would be much use for vandalism, it looks like you feed it a list of pages and it does the same thing to each one, like adding a template or whatever – Qxz 05:04, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yo wat's up? Can you please stop editing my user page. I constantly get an orange bar with new changes. Capish?--169.232.125.176 04:28, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

nomination

edit

hey, thanks for the nomination. I am flattered. However, I don't have the time I need to invest as much as an admin would need to, unfortunately. So, I afraid I will have to decline the nomination. __earth (Talk) 11:38, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
