Hello YolandeHudson. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to User:YolandeHudson/sandbox, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:YolandeHudson. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=YolandeHudson|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:09, 14 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hudson Holdings

edit

Hi there, I'm the admin that deleted the latest incarnation of your Hudson Holdings article draft at User:YolandeHudson/sandbox. The reason that it keeps being deleted is that it reads like an advert, and advertising is not allowed on Wikipedia. Wikipedia content must be written from a neutral point of view, and promotional material will be removed. If you keep uploading promotional material like the drafts that have been deleted, you are very likely to be blocked from editing.

Also, please note that there are other requirements to create a Wikipedia article other than writing them from a neutral point of view. The subject must have significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic in order for it to qualify for an article in the first place. And then, statements that could be contested should be cited to a reliable source. Also, Wikipedia cannot use copyrighted material, so you should avoid copying and pasting from other sites.

In addition, it seems that you may have a conflict of interest with Hudson Holdings, which may complicate matters somewhat. I highly recommend reading the conflict of interest guide for seeing how this may apply to you. Best — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 14:10, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, as you did at User:YolandeHudson/sandbox. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Just to clarify a little: when I wrote above "do not edit further until you answer this message", what I meant was that you should not make any edit to any other page without having first responded to my request for appropriate paid-editor disclosure. I had thought that this would be clear to you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:09, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

I was extremely shocked to see that my account was blocked for YolandeHudson. I have been trying to make all the suggestions to ammend my article. I re-wrote it twice and when i spoke to a forum they told me to see that if it is being done right I had to Publish it and nonetheless I needed to save my work if I had to close my computer that day and there is no way to save a draft.

I also included this: Dollar sign in circle cleaned (PD version).svg YolandeHudson, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by InsertName for their contributions to Wikipedia.

but it still got deleted.

Honestly I am at a loss here and very let down that I got blocked when all I want to do is create a profile for the company I work for.

I would therefore like to appeal this block. I am not even being allowed to write in my user talk page let alone appeal it. Please do support me.

Yolande

  • I would add that Wikipedia does not have "profiles", not a single one. "Profile" is a social media term. Wikipedia has articles. Those articles are typically written by independent editors that take note of a subject receiving significant coverage in independent reliable sources that choose on their own to do so, and choose to write about it- showing how (in this case) a company meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. Wikipedia is not interested in what a company wants to say about itself, only in what others completely unconnected with the company and not based on any materials put out by the company or on mere reporting of the company's activities, choose to say about it. It is usually very difficult for company representatives to write in such a manner. 331dot (talk) 16:30, 19 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
