First of all welcome

A couple of things regarding editing medical content:

1. Per this guideline review articles are preferred as references. WP:MEDRS
2. The usually outline / formating is discussed here WP:MEDMOS
3. Wikimedia Canada is going to be offering a scholarship to University Students which can be found here [1]
4. And I will be coming to UBC hopefully in Oct to speak to students and staff who are interested in getting involved with Wikipedia. Exact dates are not yet set.
5. Also it is probably better to edit Wikipedia itself as you write your paper. Rather than to try and write it and than upload it when you are done.
