Welcome! edit

Hello, Xavier.bower, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Xrefs edit

Xavier, I see you're using the obscure mechanism [[Pangenesis#cite note-:0-17|[17]]] -- what happens if someone adds or deletes some refs before number 17, hmm? I suspect it goes ... wrong (I was about to say something else). Could you please use a simpler and more robust mechanism? The easiest way is to name a ref to be reused, say <ref name=Doe2018>Doe, J. (2018) ...</ref> and then to reuse it wherever you like <ref name=Doe2018/> (note the slash at the end). Thanks Chiswick Chap (talk) 18:25, 3 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Chiswick Chap, Thanks for pointing that out: I will go through and fix that soon. Completely unintentional. Xavier.bower (talk) 21:09, 3 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
