Hello, I'm FreeRangeFrog. I noticed that you made a change to an article, University of Liverpool, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:23, 6 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Sam Walton (talk) 17:28, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Just to explain why your edits to the university's article are being removed: The University has Europe's most advanced scientific teaching laboratories is a claim that must include a citation to a source other than the university itself. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:37, 17 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

University of Liverpool

edit

Hi Xara. I just undid an edit of yours on the University of Liverpool content in which you removed content cited to reliable sources of information with the edit summary 'harmful content removed'. Wikipedia articles must be written from a neutral point of view, reflecting all major viewpoints, and the paragraph was well covered in the sources. As such, even though it portrays something negative, it should stay in the article. It was also the subject of some debate in which a consensus for its current form was reached. On a side note your editing history seems to suggest you may be an employee of the University; if this is the case you must declare your conflict of interest on your user page or the article's talk page (see the Terms of Use section on Paid contributions without disclosure). Thanks, Sam Walton (talk) 17:56, 16 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi again; just a reminder that if you're an employee of the university you need to state so per the Terms of Use linked above. Thanks, Sam Walton (talk) 17:37, 27 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Sam Can i put in again the removed sentence ie The Uol is linked....

I am not an employee of the UoL and have never been one

Thanks

Ok. No, that sentence is what we refer to as a peacock term; such 'achievements' should instead be demonstrated through well documented sources cited in the article. Sam Walton (talk) 18:56, 27 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your question

edit

Hi Xara. I saw you posted a question on your user page, which I'll answer here. I removed that content because you did not cite a reliable source for the information. Since that means readers have no way of telling that the information is true, I removed it from the article. Sam Walton (talk) 19:05, 20 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sam, the reference was very reliable and if you had looked into it carefully you would not have removed it. Do you have a problem with the UoL? You have done this in the past, namely removing reliable references. .Please restore otherwise i will file an official complaint

Thanks

I have no problem with UoL. This was your edit, you didn't add a source for your information and the source that is at the end of that sentence doesn't mention the chemistry department. Do feel free to add that information to the article, but please cite its source. Sam Walton (talk) 19:26, 20 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Sum. I will try to find another source . Co you help? please look at REF 2014 research results and you will see the UoL Chemistry dept 99% 4* and 3*
Ah, this link would suffice I guess. You can add it to the article in the same way the computer science one is added. Sam Walton (talk) 19:54, 20 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much Sam Xara245
