Presidents of the British Virgin Islands

edit

Good job on putting in those articles on the former Presidents of the British Virgin Islands. What source do you use for your data? I am currently doing a major rewrite of the History of the British Virgin Islands article (in my sandbox at the moment), but I would welcome any additional sources to draw on if you can point me in the right direction. --Legis (talk - contributions) 13:20, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. All sources are from the web. See references at the bottom of each persons article. Woodsstock 11:18, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Block

edit

I accidentally blocked you because you reverted Brett Favre to the version of banned user User:Starwars1955. As he always uses confusing edit summaries and usually uses two sockpuppets (sockpuppet A vandalizes the article, sockpuppet B then pretends to revert the vandalism, but reverts to a much older version instead), I mistook your good-faith vandalism reversion for his bad-faith ban evasion. I am very sorry that you got caught in this for trying to help with the reversion of vandalism. Should anyone ever ask you why you got blocked, please point them to this explanation. Again, I apologize. Happy editing nevertheless, Kusma (討論) 17:10, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletes

edit

Hi Woodsstock! When nominating an artice for speedy deletion, please don't remove or hide the text of the article. Admins need to read the article to decide whether to delete it; if it's hidden, we have to look at the last diff which adds time to the process of "speedy" deleting. Thanks and happy editing! Point taken. Thanks for the advice. Woodsstock 16:39, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

EDI Discussion

edit

Woodsstock,

Good morning. Lets you and I get together to chat about this page. There is quite a lot that I plan on adding over the next few weeks, and I would like to coordinate with whoever else might be editing. What is the best way to carry this out? I would rather use email if that works for you.

Thanks, Pete

Tolpuddle

edit

I'm interested to know why you undid my revision to the article on the village of Tolpuddle - I removed the line, "Billy Connely once sat on a bench there", and you felt it necessary to put it back. Why? I may be mistakenly believing the line to refer to Scottish comedian, Billy Connolly, who may indeed once have sat on a bench there, but is this information a valid part of a wikipedia article?

Block request

edit

Sorry, but I'm not an admin (as of yet), so I cannot go out and block people. Thanks for asking though. Report the user to WP:AIV, and admins will shortly block the user. Diez2 18:18, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:Vandal

edit

I am requesting that User_talk:194.82.177.15 be blocked. Thanks. Woodsstock 11:23, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi. As I'm not an admin, I can't block this user, however if you see it doing any more vandalism, listing it at WP:AIV may have the user blocked. Cheers- CattleGirl talk | sign! 10:15, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Template substitution

edit

When using certain template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Atomic1609 18:24, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK, Thanks Woodsstock 18:26, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

You reverted my changes to the AS2 and Electronic Data Interchange pages

edit

Hi,

My name is Rob Greenhalgh. I am employed by Freeway Commerce Limited.

I notice that you have undone the changes that I have made to the pages specified in the headline. Please may I ask why?

I can partly understand the EDI page being reverted, as I created a new section. However, the AS2 page contains a list of most of our major competitors, and seeing as a search on Google for "AS2" brings the Wikipedia entry as the first result, I thought it prudent to add our company into the list, as well as making the list more complete.

I can be contacted at regreenhalgh@aol.com if you would care to discuss this further.

Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,

Rob —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.7.252.56 (talk) 19:07, 23 February 2007 (UTC).Reply
