File copyright problem with File:2012-women.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:2012-women.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Eeekster (talk) 23:27, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright question edit

How does X work? edit

{{help me}} I uploaded an image called "2012 logo Stacked web.jpg" and I filled out the rationale and understand that I am able to use the logo because it is meant to identify the organization. However it is no longer showing on my article page. Did I fill out the rationale incorrectly? I've contacted the organization and they stated that I had the right to use their logo for my Wikipedia article, however what information would I need to provide in order to post this logo on my article? This is my first time creating an article on Wikipedia and I haven't been able to find an answer to my question yet in the manuals yet. Thanks for your help.

The article you are working on is on your user subpage, i.e., it has not yet been moved to the mainspace. As such, having any fair use image showing is absolutely not allowed. As was linked in the edit summary upon its removal, see WP:NFCC#9. I also note that your fair use rationale was taken from another page as an example, and you did not fully tailor it, leaving in references to the "Eagleton Institute of Politics" which has nothing to do with The 2012 Project. So you need to fix the fair use rationale, and you need to move your subpage to the mainspace before adding it back in, or if you want to work on the article further as a subpage until you are ready to go live, you need to let it be deleted and only re-upload the image and place it after you have gone live.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 04:30, 8 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
