Admin edit

Hi Williamsayers, I think you should run for admin on the English Wiktionary. I'd nominate you myself, but find editting there troublesome. Wiktionary need more admins. --Dangherous 10:55, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

How do I go about being nominated then?--Williamsayers79 12:39, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Clickin' here should start one. --Dangherous 12:50, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Awesome Image edit

Hi, I had a look, but I couldn't find anywhere that specified the exact resolution an image has to be to constitute fair use, take a look at this page though, it gives some guidelines. Wikipedia:Fair use Timkovski 15:03, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikt stuff edit

Hey Billy, can you have a look at a few pages on Wikt for me, namely wikt:half past, wikt:quarter past, wikt:quarter to, wikt:o'clock. They could do with some tidy up. --Dangherous 14:36, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Tyne and Wear edit

Hi there, I'm currently considering making a wikiproject called Wikipedia:WikiProject Tyne and Wear and I'm just wondering if you would be interested in joining if and when I'ts created as I noticed from a user category you live in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. It would be all about improving and creating wikipedia articles relating to Tyne and Wear. If you have any questions, comments or would like to show interest then please tell me on my talk page and if you know any other users who maybe interested in joining please feel free to tell them as it will need a few members in order to make it run smoothly. I will also be willing to create the project page and templates etc if there are enough active members. Thanks. TellyaddictEditor review! 15:46, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:COC_Blind.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:COC_Blind.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ElinorD (talk) 16:28, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. ElinorD (talk) 16:36, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Typo redirect Knifepoin edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Knifepoin, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Knifepoin is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Knifepoin, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Orphaned non-free image File:Leahdile.gif edit

Thanks for uploading File:Leahdile.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. JaGatalk 03:46, 11 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Above All edit

The article Above All has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced for more than five years.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
