Extant edit

Please explain your reasons for creating Extant (Season 2) and moving the relevant content there, instead of moving it to the already-existing Extant (season 2), forcing an unnecessary redirect. Alex|The|Whovian 08:08, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

(moved) Someone had it set up to be redirected before i made the extant season 2 page their wasn't one before.
You could have just deleted the redirect and moved the content there instead. Look at the history of the page. It's existed for three months. (And please reply here.) Alex|The|Whovian 08:13, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yah the redirect was their for 3 months but i checked their was no page created, i made a mistake when i created the page for not moving the redirect.Whyedithere (talk) 08:14, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

If there's a redirect, that means there was a page you could have DELETED the redirect and MOVED the content to. You've caused more work for other editors and admins instead of just moving the content there in the first place. Alex|The|Whovian 08:16, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Chill out all I'm doing is trying to help here calm down.Whyedithere (talk) 08:16, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please know what you're actually doing before you do it. Alex|The|Whovian 08:17, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Like I said I was just trying to help I've never had a redirect problem before and I don't know why their was even one their in the first place. Just trying to help, the admins will fix it.Whyedithere (talk) 08:19, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Why was there a redirect? Because if you linked to "Extant (season 2)", you'd be automatically redirect to the "List of Extant episodes" page. So, all you needed to do was deleted the redirect, and move the content to that page. The admins shouldn't have to fix it. Alex|The|Whovian 08:21, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I thought I had removed the redirect. Whyedithere (talk) 08:22, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

How?? You created an entirely new page! Alex|The|Whovian 08:23, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Forget it, it will be fixed, and it will all work out. Whyedithere (talk) 08:26, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps now would be a good time to look into how to edit properly, or ask others who know what they're doing. Alex|The|Whovian 08:28, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I made ONE mistake back the **** off. Whyedithere (talk) 08:29, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Really? I'm trying to help improve your Wikipedia editing experience. Try to actually take it. Alex|The|Whovian 08:30, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your sitting here insulting me over ONE mistake how about you actually create the pages then and actually do something instead of sitting back and nit picking baby edits while every one else does the real work. Whyedithere (talk) 08:31, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

How am I insulting you? I recommended you read up on editing. And I've created many pages; check my contribution history if you want to see. 20, in fact, excluding templates and files. And over 9,200 edits. And I'm not doing the real work? Alex|The|Whovian 08:34, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Have a great day Mr. Australian. Whyedithere (talk) 08:34, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Scorpion (TV series) edit

To expand, neither a Series Overview table or "List of episodes" pages can be created for this series until an episode table can be created for Season 2. And that can't be done until there is more information for the new season than just the premiere date. Also, you assume that Season 2 will consist of 22 episodes - you have not sourced this. Hence, still only the premiere date is available. Alex|The|Whovian 10:09, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Im not assuming the cast tweeted it I'm looking for the reference.Whyedithere (talk) 10:10, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Then add the information once you have the source, not before you have the source. And a Season 2 table can still not be created yet, hence (as per WP:TVOVERVIEW - When a series is renewed for an additional season, a section is not to be added for that upcoming season until such time as an episode table can be created for the season.), a row for Season 2 cannot be added to the Series Overview table. Alex|The|Whovian 10:12, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

We can't add it because you keep deleting the page, and if that article is correct go delete madam secretary and all the other pages that have it done ill send you a full list mr 100 percent rule follower those are just guidelines you don't have to follow them to a T. Whyedithere (talk) 10:14, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'd be glad to! :) Let me know when your list is complete. And WP:TVOVERVIEW is a Method of Style, not a generic guideline. Alex|The|Whovian 10:15, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Not going to get one because people actually put time and effort to make those pages and it makes no since to delete them when historically the information is to be announced in the near future. Whyedithere (talk) 10:18, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Here on Wikipedia, we editors add information when it is available and released, not when it is due or expected to be released. Alex|The|Whovian 10:21, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your avoiding the entire point here and you seem to be good at that. Avoiding the actual point, have you ever thought of going in to politics. Whyedithere (talk) 10:22, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

And what exactly is the point that you are trying to get across? Alex|The|Whovian 10:22, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

That you only care about your self esteem on here you couldn't care less about the work and effort other people do on wikipedia. When 99 percent of us here are just trying to help improve and update information as quickly and best as possible. But you don't care at all you give zero butts. Whyedithere (talk) 10:25, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Because, as you said, I'm "mr 100 percent rule follower". I follow the guidelines, rules and MoS' as appropriate, and follows these points to my editing of articles. The one piece of new information that was added to the article was that Season 2 would have 22 episodes, which was, in fact, unsourced. Alex|The|Whovian 10:28, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Listen for the sake of your ego I reverted my own edit, and I just added a link to the correctly formatted season 1 scorpion page. Whyedithere (talk) 10:29, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Well done on the Season 1 page! Alex|The|Whovian 10:30, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you now its 6:00 am here so I should probably go to sleep now thanks for the compromise. Whyedithere (talk) 10:31, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

There are multiple problems with the article. We normally create a list of episodes page first then and eventually split that content out to individual season articles. We don't create the season articles first. The article that you created just serves to substantially duplicate the existing main series article so it serves no purpose and should not exist. It certainly shouldn't exist without a list of episodes page, which should not exist until at least a season 2 episode table can be created. Very importantly, all splits require attribution, which was not provided at all and that violates Wikipedia licensing requirements, so the article that you created is a copyright violation. The way forward is surprisingly simple:

  1. When an episode table can be created for season 2, create one with citations.
  2. Consider creating List of Scorpion episodes as an article.
  3. Consider creating individual season articles when:
    • List of Scorpion episodes starts to get too long (80 episodes or so per MOS:TV, or
    • when substantial new content that does not duplicate existing content can be added to season articles

At all times content splits must be properly attributed per WP:CWW. --AussieLegend () 11:29, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Scorpion (season 1) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Scorpion (season 1). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Scorpion (TV series). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Scorpion (TV series) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. AussieLegend () 11:16, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

No problem my plan was to make a list of episodes page but as you can see above alex and I had a discussion and its not time for it. I will just remake the page in September when the new season is getting ready to start and more info is available. AllThingsMultimedia (talk) 21:17, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

OS X El Capitan#Reception edit

Hi. Where is the source you referred to when you removed the cn tags from that section? Anyway, when reviews are quoted, directly or indirectly, they still need inline citations. Things like "some journalists have noted ..." and "Apple has received praise ..." fail WP:WEASEL in the absence of solid citations. Rwxrwxrwx (talk) 11:08, 31 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

The sentence is a fact saying the multitasking runs the same across all platforms and notes its just a fact that apple has been talking about, Im personally running El Capitan on my computer its not an opinion. AllThingsMultimedia (talk) 11:56, 31 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
Please see WP:OR and WP:VERIFY. Your own experiences are not a valid source for anything. Apple has a video that demonstrates the new multi-tasking features and they're all over the Mac-related media. An inline citation would be perfectly simple to find. Why edit war it instead? --Drmargi (talk) 15:12, 1 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Even that sentence begins with “For example, many journalists have noted”.–Totie (talk) 15:14, 1 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Extantseason1dvd.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Extantseason1dvd.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 11:06, 12 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
