Speedy deletion nomination of User:Wheelchair Lifts/sandbox

edit

Hello Wheelchair Lifts,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged User:Wheelchair Lifts/sandbox for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. SkaterLife (talk) 14:20, 7 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Help

User needs help with creating an article.

Hello SkaterLife, Thanks for the information – I was not aware that my sandbox was being viewed. I thought I could construct the page and then submit it – I will start from scratch having deleted my first attempt

Well Wheelchair Lifts. Everything that goes on in Wikipedia is being viewed. If you click on this Link here You'll see everything that has been done. From Block logs, Move Logs, to even Page creations. that's how I saw your page. Please don't start from scratch. Have an experienced editor look at your article so he can help remove promo info from it. Happy Editing!SkaterLife (talk) 15:01, 7 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
However, even "draft" articles, created in sandbox, still need to comply with guidelines, such as WP:SOAP. If you wish for your article to be included in Wikipedia, it also needs to demonstrate that is meets our notability guidelines. WP:42 may also be relevent. Also, as your username seems to show you are affiliated with the company, please read wmf:Terms of Use#4. Refraining from Certain Activities. --Mdann52talk to me! 15:29, 7 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
I'm going to offer a different opinion than User:SkaterLife (One of the things you will learn about Wikipedia is that there are lots of opinions). I agree with you that starting over is warranted, but I urge you to take a look at existing articles, especially WP:GA or WP:FA. The current version isn't simply promotional, but not written in a format consistent with other articles.

{after edit conflict} I added a "Welcome" message to this page with many helpful links, including guides to creating a new article. In addition to those links, and what others have said here, I believe it is important to mention the Wikipedia Conflict of Interest Policy. Based on your user name and the subject of your draft article, I think it might be relevant. Please note that if you are the owner or an employee of the company, it is probably a conflict for you to create or edit the article yourself. Also, at this point, there is nothing in your draft that demonstrates the notability of this company over the hundreds of others that provide a product like this. Please read the notability guidelines carefully. I have removed the {{help me}} template from the page as I think the advice give by me and others, and the links provided, should answer your questions for now. If you need additional help, please don't hesitate to ask. —    Bill W.    (Talk)  (Contrib)  (User:Wtwilson3)  — 15:41, 7 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
