Interaction and Influences

edit

During his association with Islamic Foundation and Muslim Community, USA he met Dr. Israr Ahmed in 1978 and was influenced by his Quranic lectures and joined Tanzeem-e-Islami and served as Ameer Tanzeem-e-Islami Chicago, Illinois, USA from 1978-1980 [1]and he worked as lecturer (Mudaris) of Quran in different cities of Chicago under guidance of Dr. Israr Ahmed but soon he realized that his deep association with any particular organization might deprived him from other sources of knowledge so he resigned from Tanzeem-e-Islami in 1980 and spared himself for Quranic Research for the next eight years.[3] In the meanwhile he also met Dr. Ali Shariati and Dr. Fazal-ur-Rehman[1]in USA and spent most of his time in studies and research on Quran and Quranic scholars i.e. Hazrat Shah Wali Ullah, Molana Abul Kalam Azad, Molana Maudodi, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Molana Amin Ahsan Islahi, and Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Religious and Educational Work

edit

He came back to Pakistan in 1989 and established the Institute of Islamic Studies & Research(IISAR) in 1990[4] which began its work with his teaching sessions in Quran. The teaching sessions continued and progressed with “Nazra, Hifz, Tajweed, Tafseer, translation and the understanding of inherent meaning of Quran.” [5] Like Dr. Israr Ahmed and some other Mulsims scholars, Dr. Siddiqui also believes in Islamic revolutionary thoughts that the teachings of the Qur'an must be implemented in the all spheres of life but he is not agreed with the scholars who want to achieve this goal by solely political movements or insurgency. His inclination is towards the methodology, adopted by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Ali Jinnah that’s why he considered necessary to introduce the teaching of English language, the Computer Science and social and natural sciences along with the teachings of Quran. For this purpose he established a number of schools[6] , colleges[7] and institutions to see and evolve a system of education whereby the Islamic and modern education courses could be taught with a blend of both systems. Thus Institute of Islamic Studies and Research (IISAR) on the basis of Quran & Sunnah took the shape of an educational[8] , and socio political Movement. He believes that Peace, harmony and tranquility in humanity cannot be achieved until a dialogue process is started between all religions and especially between Hazrat Ibrahim’s followers (Jews, Christians and Muslims) and he also believes that main cause of Muslim civilization’s decline, degradation and deterioration is the deadlock in religious thoughts which need to be reconstructed through and should be synchronized with contemporary knowledge (natural and social sciences) accordingly.[9]
He gives daily lectures in Quran after Salat-ul-Fajar and after Salat-ul-Isha to the Quranic students, weekly lectures to students and teachers of schools and colleges and lectures for general public at various occasions. Hundreds of cds and videos of his lectures are available at Institute of Islamic Studies and Research’s office and web site. Besides an Educationist and Quranic scholar, Dr. Siddiqui is also know as Counselor and Psychotherapist. He is associated with a number of national and international educational bodies, universities and organisations.[1]

Children, following and Friends

edit

Dr. Siddiqui has no children from his own loins but he considers all of his students as his own children as he believes that ideological relation is more important than bodily relation and a number of his students also live with him. He is influenced by Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal's thoughts that we are unique creature of Allah(ST) and if we establish our deep ideological relation with Him we can create a unique society which will define spiritual relation between humans, human and God, human and universe.[1]

There are a lot of people in Pakistan and abroad who follow Dr. Siddiqui's thoughts in Quran.
