July 2014 edit

Hello, I'm Magiciandude. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Mi Tierra, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Ensure that when you add release dates for each region, you include a source for each one. Erick (talk) 19:43, 11 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

July 2014 edit

Please do not add or change content, as you did to Mi Tierra, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. You need to provide a source for the release dates and the same goes for the 1995 year-end charts. All information needs to backed by a reliable source. Erick (talk) 21:01, 11 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

May 2015 edit

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Please study the the image use policy instead of adding all the extra images back time and time again after they are removed. Also note that you need to properly source all your additions. Duplicate images edit

Please don't upload two, three, or four copies of the same image to Wikipedia. Duplicate images are routinely deleted as part of our criteria for speedy deletion, so all you are accomplishing is a lot of work for our Wikipedia administrators. If anything about our image use policies are confusing to you, please drop a note on my Talk page and I'll try to help you out. (ESkog)(Talk) 11:13, 18 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please stop edit

Wikipedia's non-free content policies have been explained to you several times. Please stop re-inserting non-free images in violation of those policies. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:51, 18 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Two of these policies in particular are important here. WP:NFCC #3 requires that we use a minimal number of non-free images. Usually, one copyrighted image is enough to identify the subject of an article on an album or single. WP:NFCC #8 requires that the image not be merely decorative, but must have a purpose in the article. Occasionally, a second album cover might be justifiable under this standard as its art is particularly important or relevant to the overall encyclopedic discussion of the subject, but this is quite rare. It's certainly never okay to just have seven non-free images to identify a single copyrighted work. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:05, 18 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Final warning edit

Once again, please stop adding multiple decorative images to album articles in violation of the non-free content criteria. This creates a great deal of work for other editors who have to come in and clean up afterwards. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Additionally, you should consider engaging with other editors on article talk pages. It appears that you might be treating some pages as though you are in charge of them. Wikipedia articles are collaborative projects, and if you find your edits being reverted consistently, you should seek explanations from those who are reverting you. Usually, there's either some kind of guideline or consensus that explains why you are having difficulties. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:20, 22 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Also please stop creating sections such as "weeks on chart" to chart success tables, as those are not usually added. It would be good if you could study other song/album articles and try to format your additions the same way. Widr (talk) 19:50, 22 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Could you please stop adding the number of weeks charted in album and single articles? ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Gloria Estefan from 45worlds.com edit

Like Discogs and Rate Your Music, the website 45worlds.com is not a reliable source, but seem that you don't know the rules of Wikipedia, stop put this website as a reliable source in the articles. Read more about sources to avoid here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums/Sources#Sources_to_avoid --88marcus (talk) 18:19, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Stop re-adding 45worlds.com like 88marcus told you to. It's a user-submitted website making it unreliable. You have been making a habit of ignoring other people's warnings, so I suggest you stop your disruptive editing or I will you report you to WP:ANI. Erick (talk) 00:03, 3 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
I get that its the rules but don't quite understand. It's linking so people that are curious can link to see the cover art and further info of these releases. I feel that 45worlds.com is a reliable source if someone like myself who has contributed mostly all of the Gloria Estefan releases on 45worlds. Why can't we add the links of each release so people are able to see to cover art and further details of the release?

Gloria Estefan edit

Hi. I see you've added a lot of new info to various Gloria Estefan-related pages. You've also reverted my edits to Primitive Love where I had corrected a few mistakes. I should point out that in song and album titles on Wikipedia, words such as 'and' 'a', 'to', 'the' and 'for' are written in lower case letters and not with a capital letter. Don't be surprised if other people correct these in the future. --Geach (talk) 14:07, 31 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me edit

I have seen that you have been putting the headings of this article in title case, rather than sentence case. Just so you know, according to MOS:HEADINGS, headings are to be in sentence case, not title case, which means only the first letter of the first word is to be capitalized, unless the first letter of subsequent words would normally be capitalized in a sentence.--Tdl1060 (talk) 16:41, 2 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

November 2016 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistent disruptive editing. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Spike Wilbury (talk) 14:55, 11 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Wesco482 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I feel my contributions to the pages i've been editing are not malicious in anyway and only are improving the information that I am editing. I can understand being blocked if the intent was malicious, but mine has not, which you can obviously see by looking at the edits that I have made. I truly am passionate about the information that I am editing. if the block is in regards to the last edit made I would like more clarification as to why.

Decline reason:

You were notified here on your talk pag about the thread at ANI where your block was discussed. That discussion was open for three days, yet you did not comment in it. You've been blocked before because of the quality of your edits, yet you failed to change your editing. So, this isn't about whether or not your editing was malicious, it is about whether your editing was harming or helping the encyclopedia, and whether you can change for the better and avoid these problems in the future. A consensus was arrived at at the discussion that you failed to participate in that your editing was doing more harm than good, and that since you have been blocked for it previously an indefinite block was in order. If you want to be unblocked you need to be able to explain what you would do different if you were and show an understanding of why your editing was problematic. This request does neither of those things and is therefore declined. Beeblebrox (talk) 09:29, 12 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Support for unblock request. I don't find any of this user's edits to be malicious either. I'm curious as to how the blocking admin came to conclusion that this user's edits were disruptive or malicious. Spike Wilbury, you owe the WP community an explanation. Prince-Archbishop of Wikipedia (talk) 00:48, 12 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Administrator note I'm sure I'm not the only one who would find it curious that an account less than 24 hours old just happened to wander in here to support a blocked user.... Beeblebrox (talk) 01:33, 12 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Beeblebrox: If you're implying that I'm a sockpuppet of this blocked user, trust me, that is not the case. I'll tell you how I wandered here in support of a blocked user:
1. From my viewing of Wikipedia before I created my account, I noticed that some of the blocks were unjustified.
2. So, after I created my account, I looked at the requests for unblock category.
3. And, I looked at several of the requests for unblock.
4. And, I found, as I expected, an account that had been blocked for no good reason.
5. So, I supported this user's unblock request.
I resent the fact that you think that I'm a sock just because I support an unblock request by a user that was blocked for no reason. Prince-Archbishop of Wikipedia (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:52, 12 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Prince-Archbishop of Wikipedia: Did you read the ANI report prior to making that comment? Because if you did, you would have known that it was the consensus of the community that the user's refusal to get the point is what led to them being blocked in the first place. Erick (talk) 05:01, 12 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for pointing that out, I missed the notice above amid the mountain of NFCC notices and it was not noted in the block log or blocking notice, which would have been helpful. Beeblebrox (talk) 09:20, 12 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

A couple other things i would add:

  • You've been editing here for two and a half years, yet is clear you fail to grasp even the most basic content policie such as using reliable sources.
  • You do not communicate with other users. In all the time you have been here you have made only six edits to user talk pages, and no edits whatsoever to article talk pages or Wikipedia discussion pages. Collaboration and clear communicaition are vital to Wikipedia, and you apparently haven't done either in any meaningful way.
  • Just look at this very page. There are an enourmous number of notifications regarding problems with your edits and/or uploads, yet you appear to have made no effort to understand those issues.
  • So, at a certain point the community must weigh whether the cost of putting up with these kinds of problems is worth whatever benefit you may be providing to the project.
  • Your level of "passion" or your intent cannot cancel out the many issues with your editing, which other users have tried to talk to you about and you have ignored almost entirely.
  • On the extremely rare occasions where you did engage, you showed no willingness to even try and understand the problem or look into basic Wikipedia policies so that you can avoid issues in the future.

In short, you were not helping to improve he encyclopedia, and you were a drain on volunteer resources as other users were constantly having to fix things you messed up. And so, you are blocked, and frankly I would not expect for you to be unblocked unless and until you show a significant improvement in your understanding of what Wikipedia is and how it works. Block evasion edit

This user has been engaging in obvious block evasion as User:68.252.56.75.

Wesco482, every time you do this, the chances of being unblocked anytime soon get further away. If you want to b unblocked, you need to clearly explain that you understand what was problematic about your editing and make a believable commitment to improve it eh future. Just carrying on with the same problematic editing under another identity is the exact opposite of the correct approach to being blocked. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:07, 20 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open! edit

Hello, Wesco482. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

ANI Experiences survey edit

Beginning on November 28, 2017, the Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) will be conducting a survey to en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.

The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:

If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be mailed to you via Special:Emailuser.

Thank you on behalf of the Support & Safety and Anti-Harassment Tools Teams, Patrick Earley (WMF) talk 21:12, 28 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation edit

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Wesco482, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
