Welcome to Wikipedia! It's good to see that you are editing. If there is anything that I can help with, let me know!--Gen. Quon (Talk) 13:58, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I'll let you know.--Watson Library Editor (talk) 14:02, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hello, do you represent the Watson Library or work for them? 331dot (talk) 14:04, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
- I work for them. This account is largely for training purposes (e.g. teaching students how to use Wikipedia).--Watson Library Editor (talk) 16:14, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for answering my question. I do need to inform you of some of Wikipedia's policies regarding the use of usernames and other things; I apologize for sounding blunt; I simply wish to be clear.
- The username policy does not permit usernames to be that of a position or organization.
- The same policy also does not permit usernames to be shared between users; you must be the only one using your username. It is obviously not an issue for you(and is certainly helpful to the project) to demonstrate how to use Wikipedia to others, but others cannot edit under this username. That includes not only library patrons but any colleagues you have or successors to your position.
- You don't seem to be editing about your library; so just to make you aware in case you do, you will need to review the conflict of interest policy if you ever decide to edit about it. You may also need to comply with the paid editing policy.
- I know this is probably a lot of information and I again apologize. I would highly recommend that you change your username to one that identifies you as an individual; you can visit this page to do so. A name in the format of "YourName of WatsonLibrary" would be acceptable(you don't have to use your real name). If you have any questions, please post them here. Thank you 331dot (talk) 16:38, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
