Speedy deletion nomination of Lynk (Company) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Lynk (Company), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — fortunavelut luna 10:30, 22 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Comments relating to your editing edit

  1. I see that at Talk:Lynk (Company) you wrote "This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... The content is cited from TechinAsia news release." I am at a loss to understand why anyone would think that being cited to a "news release" would be a guarantee that content cannot be promotional.
  2. The content was not just cited to the page you refer to, it was copied from there, in violation of copyright. Please don't post content copied from elsewhere to Wikipedia without providing proof that the content has been either released into the public domain or licensed for free reuse in terms compatible with Wikipedia's licensing terms. on this occasion, not only is there no proof of such free licensing, but there is proof of its absence, in the form of a copyright notice which says "Copyright © 2017 Tech in Asia. All Rights Reserved."
  3. This is one of a series of single purpose accounts which have existed with the sole purpose of posting content promoting the same business. Promotional editing is not permitted, and editors who persist in promotional editing after being warned may be blocked from editing. For this purpose different editors who appear to be working for the same company may be treated as one editor.
  4. If your editing forms all or part of work for which you are paid the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require you to state who is paying you and what your connection is, whether as an employee, a contractor, or whatever.
  5. If you have a personal connection to the subject you are writing about, whether paid or not, you should read the guideline on conflict of interest. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 11:02, 22 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
