Possible conflict of interest edit

Thank you - I've tried to see how to indicate the Possible COI but am not terribly au fait with Wikipedia outside of making changes and additions to the Paul Matisse wikipedia page. Please bear with me while I try to figure out how to comply with this request.

Hello WBryson16. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Paul Matisse, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:WBryson16. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=WBryson16|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Reify-tech (talk) 16:57, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your constructive edits to the article about Paul Matisse have been largely helpful in improving its coverage of an artist who deserves more attention. However, your close association with the subject of the article can make it difficult at times to maintain objectivity in your editorial choices. Please read and understand the conflict of interest (COI) guidelines, exercise restraint in your editing, and give deference to others here, who may be more experienced in Wikipedia writing with a WP:NPOV. Untitled (Paul Matisse article) edit

NOTE: I am copying the following two paragraphs verbatim from my Talkpage, to ensure that you see my response to your comment. Reify-tech (talk) 16:20, 29 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, the information you have re-entered about the Calder Mobile is incorrect. I have removed it. This was designed, fabricated and installed by Paul Matisse, with some input from Sandy Calder, before his untimely death before it was completed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WBryson16 (talkcontribs) 14:36, 13 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

As somebody who appears to work for the artist Paul Matisse, you have unique access to primary sources for the article, but you also must comply with Wikipedia's WP:COI policies. The information you removed was carefully referenced from the website of the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. If you have more-accurate or up-to-date information, please discuss it on the article Talkpage Talk:Paul Matisse, and document the reliable sources (WP:RS) for your claims. Please do not discuss the article here on my Talkpage, as this page is less visible to other editors who may also be interested in the article. Reify-tech (talk) 20:26, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
