Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Draft:Fiorano Software article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement: "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribute Share-Alike".

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the Help Desk. You can also leave a message on my talk page.

Hi I am not new to Wikipedia, thanks for the welcome. No the page doesn't belong to me but I think you can help me with this maybe ? I have seen a lot of companies registered trade marks being used of Wikipedia, I would like to know how and maybe help this company do the same. I am an old contributor who was recently approached by a friend for help regarding this and hence I think I would want to help. There are other companies which are competitors of this company blatantly advertising on Wiki but a genuine article which doesn't advertise has been marked for review.

Please help if you can with guidelines to get this page up Volcanicsnow (talk) 10:42, 16 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Do not edit that page! That "friend" is asking you to violate WP:MEAT, WP:COI, and WP:PROMO. Please let us know what their account is, so we can take action against their deeply unethical action. In general, WP:FAIRUSE would apply. But again, you must not edit on behalf of this person, because they are asking you to violate multiple Wikipedia policies on their behalf. --Yamla (talk) 10:46, 16 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Volcanicsnow, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Request reason:

Incorrect block for a genuine concern and never tried to edit the page mentioned after the warning, i am an old user and have no concern with the page for editing which I have been blocked. You could also check that the page or the other profiles which have now been marked as my multiple accounts have nothing to do with me and even came into existence long after my account. I really dont see how somebody could actually find me to be same as someone else when thats not true. I even came to know of my block now when I tried to correct one of the pages I found with bad english grammar. Volcanicsnow (talk) 17:32, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

Unblocked on the basis that the blocking admin is no longer active. Additionally, you have agreed to refrain from any further violations of WP:SOCK and WP:COI and will specifically avoid writing about Fiorano Software. Welcome back and happy editing! Yamla (talk) 14:50, 13 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Yamla: The opinion you expressed in the corresponding SPI was that Volcanicsnow should not be blocked as long as they stop editing on behalf of their friend. As they weren't conclusively connected to the socks technically, do you still stand by that opinion? If so, I will unblock if they agree to not edit Fiorano Software.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 18:02, 8 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
This is challenging for me. This unblock request appears to directly contradict this claim that they were indeed "approached by a friend for help". It's possible they simply haven't read WP:MEAT in all this time. I'd support an unblock request if they indicated they had read WP:MEAT and shouldn't have been editing on behalf of their friend, and if they agreed to avoid Fiorano Software and anything else for which they have a conflict of interest. That roughly corresponds to an answer of "yes, I stand by that opinion", but that position is weakly held. I'd hope this user took a substantially different approach to editing if unblocked. --Yamla (talk) 09:58, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Yamla: I am not denying I tried to edit for a friend, in the unblock request I have just denied owning the other accounts as they have been marked as my multiple accounts after the investigation which is not true, and have also denied having any connection to the page in question... as per your earlier message I have already made it a point to have not edited the page after your warning. I think there has been some misunderstanding. volcanicsnow (talk) 10:25, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Please read WP:MEAT and let us know when you have done so and what you now understand. Please indicate whether you'd agree to avoid writing about Fiorano Software and anything else for which you have a conflict of interest. --Yamla (talk) 10:25, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Yamla: Yes, I have read it, I agree I had no clue about it earlier but after your warning message I have gone through it and understand what was wrong. volcanicsnow (talk) 10:30, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
This addresses only one of the points I raised. Please address all of the points I raised. --Yamla (talk) 10:32, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
If I understood where I went wrong, obviously I wont be writing about Fiorano Software or anything else with conflict of interest . I have already mentioned this in my previous message that after your warning I havent tried to edit the page and that can be checked. - volcanicsnow (talk) 10:36, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Ponyo: Based on the above, would you support me lifting the block? Unfortunately, the blocking admin is no longer active on Wikipedia, so this is going to come down to our judgment. --Yamla (talk) 10:38, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Yamla:, I was away for a few days. Yes, I totally agree with the unblock given the discussion above.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:19, 14 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Yamla: Thanks! I will try to not get into trouble again. Volcanicsnow (talk) 15:11, 13 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
