Translation request from Basque

I hope that you can help me. On this page[1] is a section of text in Euskara (Basque) that reads:
Artzai Txikiyak eman biaizkit
lau bat arrazoi fuertiak:
ire ardiyak nere soruan
eiten dituzten kaltiak,
iru lau aldiz eman zizkatek
punta berriyai kortiak...
itxiko dizkat zelaiko langak
eta zelaiko atiak!
I was wondering if you could translate this to English (Portuguese, Ukrainian, Spanish, or Russian) for me. I am specifically interested in the word "kortiak" at the end of the sixth line. Any help greatly appreciated. Vivafelis 20:29, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I am completely unable to help you with that. Even a Google search for <kortiak euskera> was a Googlewhack! You might to well to check out the Basque-language Wikipedia and perhaps ask a native speaker of Basque with a knowledge of English to assist you. The only thing I can tell you is that '-ak' is often a plural ending, so the word you're looking for may already have undergone some morphological chicanery. I don't see a relation to Wikipedia work. Anyhow, it could be a Hispanism for cortes, that means either "cuts" or one of several Spanish parliaments.

Yes, the word kortia as posted Error is from spanish corte (cut) as fuertia is from fuerte (here meaning good reasons). That use of spanish words (or gramatical constructions) is called erderakada in euskera and the bertsolari use them because of the need of rhyme, remember he is improvising.
