Welcome!

Hello, Vishwanath Bite, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as The Criterion: An International Journal in English, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. September 2012 edit

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you will probably not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. - Vianello (Talk) 02:30, 28 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

My all previous attempts were to make info of our Literary Journal available on Wikipedia, since i was not trained to use Wiki before i was committing lot of mistakes by posting it like an advertisement and promotion. I realized my mistake because last month i attended a workshop on Media Wiki as part of our employer's policy to bring Media Wiki in Education. I realized that with this platform i really can contribute a lot about the local content which is not available on the web. I believe that if we start contributing the rural knowledge through wiki, which is the most cited information source, we could contribute to the knowledge.

Decline reason:

I don't understand what you mean by "local content which is not available on the web" - what source are you referring to? A newspaper or magazine? Or do you mean hearsay and gossip? PhilKnight (talk) 11:49, 11 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Please, answer those questions in order to be unblocked:
    1. Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and that it should not be used for any kind of promotion?
    2. Do you understand that Wikipedia only accepts articles on topics that are WP:NOTABLE?
    3. Do you understand that every article has to be supported by WP:references to WP:RELIABLE SOURCES? Vanjagenije (talk) 00:13, 5 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • But, I still do not understand one: Are you or are you not Vishwanath Bite? You were blocked as an impersonator of Vishwanath Bite and told to chose another user names. But, you proposed username "vishwanathbite". If you are not Vishwanath Bite than the username you proposed is not acceptable. Vanjagenije (talk) 15:08, 11 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock-spamun|vishwanathbite|

I am Vishwanath Bite I was blocked for repeatedly posting content which was not according to Wikipedia policy. My email ID is also my name so I requested vishwanathbite as username instead of Vishwanath Bite. Changing username is isn't that much important though.
Do you explicitly agree to not attempt to recreate an article about (1) yourself or (2) your journal? OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:39, 11 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock-spamun|vishwanathbite| Yeah I assure I will never create an article about me or my Journal. Really looking forward to contribute to Wikipedia.

Unblock edit

Per your assurance that you will not make conflict of interest edits, I've unblocked you. I haven't changed your username, as it's not in violation if it is your actual name. If you decide that you'd still like it changed, you can make a separate request for that. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:15, 11 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
