I love messages! Even if you just want to say hi, I'd love to hear from you. If it's not apparent enough from my username that I love classical music...feel free to talk over Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, ETC, and I'll be very pleased to chat with you about it. Click here to post a new message. I'll always reply on your talk page, unless you don't have a username, so unless you want to have to keep checking back here, it would be a good idea to sign your messages using four tildes (~~~~). Please add new comments at the bottom with a relevant message heading. I archive every 30 message headings...archived talk can be found at the right. And thanks for talking to me!

Thanks to Sango for the design of the archive table, etc. and to Tito for the beautiful colors of this and my userpage. Thanks, guys!

Update: If you are waiting for a reply from me and it's been more than a month, please leave another note, because it's extremely likely that I forgot to reply. Thanks!--ViolinGirl 00:46, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Welcome!

Welcome!

Hello ViolinGirl and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Thank you! I'm still just beginning to understand wikipedia, and I'm glad to know it's not against "code" to ask questions! ;) ViolinGirl 11:58, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
Of course it's not! Just remember to be bold. :) Sango123 (talk) 00:50, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

New Template

ViolinGirl, I wanted to edit the trombonist's page titled Buzzarté to Monique Buzzarté (first and last name) but can't figure out how. Does it need to be "moved" or what? Knorderval 23:31, 6 December 2005 (UTC)knorderval

Yes, there are two entries for Monique Buzzarté: Monique_Buzzarté and Buzzarte. How can they be consolidated into one entry? Knorderval 16:54, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your welcome 'Violin Girl'. I also play(ed) the violin coincidentally, for ten years, but that is another story. But again, thank you and good luck with your studies. Jonas shipping-forum dot com

Thanks!

Thanks for the award, I really appreciate it!! -- JedOs 19:32, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

Happy Birthday!

Thanks for welcoming me to Wikipedia, ViolinGirl. Today is your 1-month Wikipedia birthday! I gave you a surprise. LifeMega 20:32, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

Many happy returns of the day

Thank you for the friendly welcome, ViolinGirl, and for showing me, by example, how to make my own sandbox. --CKA3KA (Skazka) 21:13, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

Special characters

Hi, ViolinGirl, and thanks for the question. :) The question marks you see are not vandalism. Due to technical limitations, some web browsers may not display certain special characters. Such characters may be rendered as boxes, question marks (as in your case), or other nonsense symbols, depending on your browser, operating system, and installed fonts. Even if you have ensured that your browser is interpreting the text as UTF-8 encoded and you have installed a font that supports a wide range of Unicode (such as Code2000, Arial Unicode MS, Lucida Sans Unicode or one of the free software Unicode fonts), you may still need to use a different browser, as browser capabilities in this regard tend to vary. (Note: Much of this text was taken from Template:SpecialChars ;-) Regards, Sango123 (talk) 21:46, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

You're very welcome; please let me know if you need anything else. Oh, and thanks for switching to Firefox! :D Sango123 (talk) 00:29, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Hello!!!

I appreciate you have accepted me at Wikipedia. My email address is mbretialketa@hotmail.com, feel free to write for any concern. I'm also available at the MSN Messenger.--Konstandin 01:22, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Have you ever heard of Antonio Vivaldi's opera "Scanderbeg"?--Konstandin 01:31, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Yo!!!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm glad to help to Wikipedia community. --DieHard2K5

Edit summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Ryan Delaney talk 13:49, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

Hey. I'm doing Wikipedia:RC patrol and I noticed you were welcoming a lot of people. Thanks a lot for doing that! It's a great help. But it would be even better if you could put something in the edit summary so RC patrollers would know what posts they can ignore. It would be a big help to us. Thanks again! --Ryan Delaney talk 13:52, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the suggestion

Thank you for suggesting that I look at Sango123's talk page. I liked it so much, in fact, that I lifted it for myself. I wasn't completely shameless, however. I left a message on Sango123's talk page and got ex post facto approval. Thanks, again, for all your help. --CKA3KA (Skazka) 23:30, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

Question re:blocking

Hi, I saw that you blocked the new user Jakeremingtonandtherattlesnakes. If you haven't done so already, do you think the new user Weloverhodrimarsdenmostly is the same person? It looks to be the same style. I'm too unsure to block him myself.--ViolinGirl 14:14, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

It is possible, but I am not sure enough to block. Anyway, Jakeremingtonandtherattlesnakes was a relatively impotent vandal, if he starts again with a new account we can just block him again. Thue | talk 14:24, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

Cookies

Thanks for the cookies ViolinGirl. I love cookies! ^_^ --LifeMega 20:26, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

Same here! Thank you for sparing me a thought! ;-) In return, here's how to put your own welcome message into a template.
  1. Click on this link: User:ViolinGirl/Welcome.
  2. Paste your welcome message and create the page.
  3. When welcoming new users, simply type in {{subst:User:ViolinGirl/Welcome}} on their talk pages.

You're welcome. Now go spread some WikiLove. :) Sango123 (talk) 20:53, 8 December 2005 (UTC)

The WikiThanks wasn't necessary (I'm glad to provide help), but I humbly thank you nonetheless. ;-) Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 20:01, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

Music

Really? You play classical music?!?!? Bravo! So do I. I've actually played the piano for 13 years. What's you're all time favorite piece? As common as it is, I think mine might have to be Clair de Lune. Probably because my dad loves it so much. Mickeyrudi 00:01, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

I mostly listen to bands like Jars of Clay, or Hillsong United. But as far as classical music, I absolutely love straight piano, but I also go for orchestra stuff, too. My latest favorite song is "Linus and Lucy With The Band" by Vince Guaraldi. Its' just an absolutely awesome combination of piano, brass, and rhythym. I'm not all that knowledgeable about classical piano...I just love to play anything classical when I run across it. Sorry, but I don't think I can help with your Variations. Mickeyrudi 17:54, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

I listened to the Morning Mood song you told me about and actually, I have a CD of the whole Peer Gynt suite! That's one of my dad's favorites also, but I think he likes "In The Hall of the Mountain King" better. (That comes later in the suite.) If you want, you can hear the version of "Morning Mood" that I have by clicking here. I don't know if you already have this but, oh well! Nice getting to "know" you too! - Mickeyrudi 14:28, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the joke. No, I've never heard it before, and I confess I don't really get it. Not all pieces have measure numbers... But an eye for an eye, I say, so here's one for you.

An elderly man is walking along the shore, when he spots a beat-up looking bottle on the ground. He picks it up, and notices it is corked. Being a man of great intelligence and inquisitiveness, he opens it , and lo and behold, out comes a genie!
"Thank you, oh thank you," says the genie, "I've been trapped in this bottle for a thousand years, and you, my friend, have saved me. For that, I shall grant you three wishes."
"Well," the old man says, "I know my first wish right away. I want my children, as they grow up, always to have enough money. Not too much, for I want them to work at what they love, which is naturally music, as I am the conductor of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, and I have given them the gift of music. But I also want them not too have little, so they can be comfortable, and educate their own children."
"Done." responds the genie. "What else do you desire?"
"Well, I have lived in this country for sixty-five years, and always is it wracked with violence."
"Violence, you say? I must have been gone for quite a long while. Are the Israeli people still fighting with the pharaoh of Egypt?"
"Oh no," answers the conductor, "that was a very long time ago, in our ancient history. Here, let me show you a map." So the conductor gets out a world map, and explains for a very long time the whole history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. After a very long consideration of the matter, the genie comes out with his answer.
"I am so very sorry, but I'm afraid I cannot do this. It is just...well, I cannot fix this international conflict. It is truly beyond my powers." The genie sighs.
"Oh, that's too bad, too bad. Can I have another wish?" the conductor asks imploringly.
"Oh, yes, of course."
"Then if you could, I have just this little problem in my orchestra. All my life I cannot fix this, and I am sure you can help. In my orchestra, no matter how hard I implore or have them rehearse, I cannot get the violists to play together. During our symphonies, it is just chaos. Utter chaos. I beg of you, please help!"
The genie stops, thinks for a moment, and says, "Um, could I have another look at that map?"

So there you have it, a long joke. Hope you enjoyed it, and feel free to shoot me another note anytime! Cheers, Bratschetalk | Esperanza 03:29, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Huh? How do I fix the title of my page, it gives my last name with a lower case e rather than capital E, see article Cris ericson, it should be Cris Ericson. Sorry, I can't figure out the right way to reply to you, I'm new. Comment by ViolinGirl: Link to her page, for my own reference: Cris_Ericson

Thanks!

Thanks

Hi

Welcome to Wikipedia, welcome to Esperanza. I'm the most dysfunctional conversationalist you could ever meet, for what that's worth, and I like Vince Guaraldi too. I think "Snoopy's theme" is one of the finest jazz pieces of the 20th century. Mind you, I'm more into Foo Fighters and Christina Aguilera than Herbie Hancock, but ehhhh. Anyway, welcome. Hey, Thanks!

This is --blinks 21:49, 14 December 2005 (UTC), just wanted to say thanks for the welcome!

It's probably someone who created a name similar to RedWolf's, but I've blocked it anyway, as it's too close to the name of an established editor. Jayjg (talk) 22:31, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

EdmundWang

Greetings. Thanks for your message on my talk page. I must have been called away from my computer just as you posted it. I have looked at both users, and neither currently has any recorded contributions against existing articles, so all their contributions must have been to articles which have been deleted. Neither has been blocked, so I guess whoever they are must have stopped. Perhaps we should both keep an eye on these accounts in case anything is going on! Thanks for your vigilance! Best regards, RobertGtalk 17:31, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Friendly note from Esperanza election helper Ral315

You voted for Aranda56 for Administrator General. You did not, however, vote for JAranda for Advisory Council. If this was a mistake, you can fix your votes any time between now and December 30. If this was not a mistake, please disregard this comment. Thanks, Ral315 (talk) 17:02, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

Oh, on behalf of my fellow advisory council members, ViolinGirl, welcome to Esperanza! I'm glad to see that you're excited about joining and voting. However, unfortunately, we can only accept votes from people that were members of Esperanza before December 12. Please don't take this personally or let it damper your enthusiasm - you'll certainly be able to vote in our next elections in February, and you can start participating in our activities. Thanks for your understanding! Oh, by the way, welcome to Wikipedia as well! I have a feeling that you're a classical music lover - we always need more contributors in that field, so welcome, welcome, and welcome again! If you have any questions, don't hesistate to contact me. Thanks again! Flcelloguy (A note?) 17:13, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
Glad to hear that you're another classical music lover. We always need more of those around here. Yes, I study. Yes, if you ever need assistance or help, I'll be available. You can ask me to block vandals if I'm around (check my contributions); otherwise, you can alert other admins at WP:AIV that a vandal needs immediate blocking. Thanks!
