Help me! edit

Please help me with... Hello, I read in a Spanish newspaper that there wasn't an article on Richard Horton, editor of The Lancet. I set to translate it from the English Wikipedia, but I have found an article in es.qwe.wiki that is a translation of the English article (with terrible translation mistakes in some places). This qwe.wiki is full of publicity. I was most surprised (and shocked)!

I would like to know if this qwe.wiki is allowed by the real Wikipedia, and if I can go on with my translation. Although I will not look at the qwe.wiki's, some parts of my translation could end by being similar and I could be accused of plagiarism.

Thanks for advising me. Kind regards, Vidsanma (talk) 11:20, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Vidsanma, The es.qwe.wiki is not run by the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit that oversees all official Wikipedia projects. The qwe.wiki is just somebody trying to make money off of Wiki articles by running ads, we have no affiliation with it. You are free to translate your article from the English version, make sure to properly attribute by noting that your work is a translation of the page on the English Wikipedia. If you have further questions, they are best asked on the Spanish Wikipedia, as they will best be able to help you. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 18:29, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Dear CaptainEek, thank you very much for your quick reply. It is a pity that Wikipedia can do nothing about this abuse of its name.

a reference in the wrong place? edit

I think reference 36 as it appears for the first time in the Gaza letter section, is not relevant. Kind regards, --Vidsanma (talk) 18:07, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
