Welcome, new GOCE Coordinator! edit
Thank you for being willing to serve as a Coordinator for the Guild of Copy Editors! I'd been wondering if this was prompted by your induction into WP:GOCE/HOF, but I see Miniapolis suggested you for the job. At the risk of further relying on Jonesey, here's the advice he gave me last year:
Please remember that, as the main Coordinators page states, we are "responsible for maintaining the Guild's internal structure and processes. [We] do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers." We operate by (sometimes presumed) consensus and do our best to check in with one another before taking an action that another coordinator might reasonably revert.
I've witnessed the way you conduct yourself as an editor and I have full faith that you will ably represent the Guild. A few things you might want to check that you have in order:
- Familiarize yourself with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Coordinators/Task list. You are welcome to jump in and do any of those tasks. If you're curious about how something is done, you can usually figure it out from the page history of the last time a task was addressed. There are step-by-step instructions for drives, blitzes, and award templates. If you have a question or want a second opinion, leave a note at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Coordinators.
- Familiarize yourself with the layout of all the Guild pages, what information is where, and how to direct new copyeditors to the information they need.
- Try to get all of these pages on your watchlist. Also watchlist the red-linked ones at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Blitzes/Archives and Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Backlog elimination drives/Archives so you'll see when a new blitz/drive/barnstar page is set up.
I see you've put the coordinator insignia on your user page. You can also display your coordinator-ship with Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Coordinators/Userbox on your user page.
If you're into top icons, Miniapolis has the insignia in a top icon using:

The Incredible copy-editing editor edit
Hi! Thanks for doing the copy-edit on the Incredible Shrinking Man. Thaaat's a good catch on the condom issue with the article. I've tried to clarify it with context (the condom part was for a scene involving simulating giant rain drops, guess that got lost in an edit somewhere.) As for the Variety review, in the past Variety credited reviewers under odd synonyms that do not make it clear who is reviewing them, in this case, it just says Brog. I can not really clarify who it is either sadly. I'm going to submit the article for a GA-review. If worse comes to worse, I'll submit it a "reviewer" in Variety instead of mentioning their name. - @Andrzejbanas: I used Google Books to confirm Brog wrote other reviews for Variety. If I had to bet, I suspect it was a catchall name used for their movie reviewer. In this case I think you could simply put Brog in quotation marks in the article. As to the condoms, I wondered where he dropped them as a kid when he found his father's - that's not clear. I agree though, mentioning giant rain drops is a good idea. I assumed that's what was going on. Cheers Twofingered Typist (talk) 11:58, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
