Mandela effect

edit

I reverted you edit on the Mandela effect page, because this redirects to the Confabulation#The Mandela Effect is already covered. If you are looking to expand on that discussion, it would be better to discuss it there.

If you are wanting to cover a separate topic, then a disambiguation is probably needed, rather than changing that page.

In addition, that line wasn't close to being ready for article space. You may want to draft something in your sandbox - see the option on the top-line menu, or begin a draft where you can get input from editors to help shape it into a good article. I would be happy to help. I've also given you an invitation to the Teahouse, which is a great forum to bring up questions.--CaroleHenson (talk) 04:16, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Daryl, also TwistedTruth, in response to the message that you posted on my page:
== Please refrain from redirecting "Mandela Effect" page to "Confabulation" ==
The Mandela Effect and confabulation have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Confabulation (A ridiculous and newly created meaningless word) tries to dismiss the "Mandela Effect" as a psychotic condition. This is simply not true. There is no real evidence to support such a theory and to the contrary; there is a mountain of evidence to verify that the people allegedly "afflicted" with this condition, are indeed remembering the details of their memories correctly. I have spent much time in researching the Mandela Effect. I am now attempting to post the truth about the "Mandela Effect" based in the facts which the evidence supports.
I will be editing the Mandela Effect page again later today with the truth. Do NOT redirect this page again. Should you refuse to honor this request we will proceed to the proper authorities to present our cases and supporting evidence.
Thank you for your cooperation regarding this matter.

My response is:
  1. I wasn't the person who first redirected the page to Confabulation and I am not the only one returning to the redirect.
  2. There is a section called "Mandela effect" in the Confabulation article - if you think it should not be there, you should take it up on the Talk:Confabulation page.
  3. As I mentioned on your page, if you have another version of "Mandela effect" that you would like to take up, I recommend starting it in a sandbox or drafts until you are more familiar with Wikipedia. Particularly if you start it up in Drafts, you will get input to help make it a better article.
  4. The next topic should be disambiguated. The title should be Mandela effect (name) - with the name being the topic that it falls under. Or, we could make Mandela effect a disambig page - and have one item route to the Confabulation page - and another route to whatever the new Mandela effect (name) would be.
  5. I am happy to help out.--CaroleHenson (talk) 19:38, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
In addition, from what you are saying about, you may have a close connection or WP:COI, and for that reason subject to the guidelines for requesting edits rather than writing the article yourself.--CaroleHenson (talk) 19:48, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
I checked Talk:Confabulation page and found that some others have commented about Mandela Effect. I asked them to comment at Talk:Mandela Effect#Removal of redirect / new topic, if they are interested. Please add any comments you have there. You may want to mention, too, that you have been researching this as well.--CaroleHenson (talk) 20:24, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
